Well,I didn't get up to Cancun for the Aquarium dive as planned. From 3/18 till the 22nd of March there were high winds.Specifically the Marinas were closed on Wednesday, the 21st.My friend Jason Renoux & I did a few Cenotes Dives instead.I have to say ,I now know the difference between Cavern & Cenotes.Daylight is always visible in Cenotes. For the 1st day he took me to Dreamsgate.I beleive it's near Tulum ,south on Hwy 307.It was recently discovered in 2008.There was a North end & South end.Very Dark.Bring your Flashlight...Awesome diving.Temp was 76 ish.I had a shorty& a 3mm full & hood.I was very comfortable.
The next and Best one we did,was Angelita. It reminded me of the Blue Hole off belize. Very tricky getting down to it.Temp again is in the high 70's.It is bell shape ,getting wider as you decend. At 91',there is a cloud of Hydrogen sufide.I was told it is the decomposition of the leaves from the tress & wood/logs & mineral from the limestone.A awesome site to see. Here is a link for Angelita.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZreWD0vqBC8
From there we did the Grand Cenotes.Much more light & easier access.
I attached some pix that are from Dreamsgate, for your viewing........
On the one day,I attached a pix of the Sun.It had a ring around it all day.Spooky...?
