I thought some of the SD members would appreciate this info.Unfortunately, the Felines cannot boast some of these attributes:
Dogs Know
Have you ever heard that a dog 'knows' when an earthquake is about to hit?
Have you ever heard that a dog can 'sense' when a tornado is stirring up, even 20 miles away?
Do you remember hearing that before the December tsunami struck Southeast Asia , dogs started running frantically away from the seashore, at breakneck Speed?
Do you know that dogs can detect cancer and other serious illnesses and danger of fire?
Somehow they always know when they can 'go for a ride' before you even ask. How do those dogs and cats get home from hundreds of miles away?
I'm a firm believer that animals - and especially cats anddogs - have keen insights into the Truth.
And you can't tell me that dogs can't sense a potentially terrible disaster well in advance.
Simply said, a dog just KNOWS when something isn't right... When impending doom is upon us.
They'll always try to warn us!

I left my home in Belize for a trip a few days back, and for some time beforehand my dog knew something was happening.

My Dogs know many things. It's like they know when my first day off work is. They get excited and want to play. They know when I'm mad and when I'm sad!! I do love my 4 legged best friends! :-)
Handle every stresssful situation like a dog.
If you can't eat it or play with it,
Just pee on it and walk away.

You are absolutely correct, they do know things. A co-worker had a working dog. For about 3 months when they would do a building search or something dangerous, the dog would not let his handler into the situation until someone else had arrived. One night his handler had to go the hospital after an injury. They took blood tests and the results came back and showed that he has MS. The dog knew!!! Amazing ! Who said they were dumb animals?

There is another True story. I just remembered .a movie, Hachi 'A Dog's Tale made about a Japanese man who had a akito breed Dog and went to the train station with him every day.Returned when his owner arrived..Then one day the owner had a heart attack & died. The dog would not leave the station. There is a statue of the dog made to his /dogs honor.
