Hi! Ron,
Another welcome from Chi town area.As you might have seen there is a thread regarding the SD trip for this destination , end of Oct.We the group will be staying at Media Luna.Where are you staying? There is a new cook at our destination.I think we would like some feed back if thats where your staying or visit there....Give us a report..

On another note.I have Costa Rica on my bucket list of places to go for diving. Flying into Liberia ,I had not selected a Resort to stay at..?? I had a few places in mind but Roatan took the prize for the trip..
Again, :welcome:

I'm headng to Roatan to complete the HSA course for buddy diving and instructing for people with disabilities. I doing this with Dr. Epstein of Dive Path shop. He has a liveaboard we'll be staying on for the course so sorry I can't help much on the resort feedback.

However, I will have a day or two on the beach and I'll try and get down there for atleast a lunch (and maybe a cold beer or two). I'll leave you some feedback on it afterwards along with water visability and conditions.

I'm living in Playas del Coco which is the heart of the diving in Guanacaste state of Costa Rica. I suggest you contact Rich Coast Diving, Deep Blue Diving or Salty Dogs. My preference is Rich Coast but all three are good reputable shops with great staff and guides. They usually have package deals which get you a better rate on hotels and some resorts. If you have any questions on paticular resorts in the area let me know and I'll tell you what I've heard.

Best diving times in Guanacaste is from November thur April. Avoid October as it's the peak rainy season and seas ofter to rough for the boats to go out. This year you're in luck with the Roatan trip for October!!

Ron,
Thanks for the information .Not sure if the $$ can handle a trip back to back this yr,but definitely 2013..November is usually the time frame I like to get out of the winter blues here..
Looking fwd to hearing what you find in Roatan..
