Stan - I was at MER in October 2008, their second group of guests after the resort opened. It's everything the writer says and more. I'll be on the SMY Ondina, diving Raja Ampat after the SingleDivers Lembeh trip. Check here for details. My daughter will be with me for this trip, and we'd be happy if some other SingleDivers would join us to experience the wonders of Raja Ampat.

Mike, I went to MER right after we left Wakatobi, spent 12 days there. During s.i.-s the last two days I would sit on the lounge chair of my cottage and stare at the islands of Fiabacet [signature dive sites of Raja Ampat - RA] not wanting to leave. I vowed to return, which I will in March 2013, only this time I won't be limited to the area around MER. IMO the diving in RA is better than Wakatobi. There are a few obstacles to traveling to RA - air into Sorong must be arraigned through an Indonesian travel agent - then there's the 4-5 hour boat ride to MER. Is it worth it?? You bet!!!Hey Bill, is it better than Wakatobi?
