Just thought I'd share this story. Fascinated by these creatures, though I'm not sure I'm ready to swim in the open water with them, yet! Riveted by all White Shark related stories & series available. Come to think of it, all sharks, in general.

Enjoy!!!

Way too exciting for my blood.
No aquarium, no tank in a marine land, however spacious it may be, can begin to duplicate the conditions of the sea. And no dolphin who inhabits one of those aquariums or one of those marine lands can be considered normal.

I came close to open water swimming with Great Whites on a platform at 40 feet at Guadalupe (look closely, it was not a cage). I would have done an open water swim had it been offered. However, I was cage diving False Bay, Seal Island, near Cape Town, South Africa in July ... I would not try free swimming with those Great Whites!

Another very cool video, amigo. Thanks for sharing! I'll get there, at some point. I agree with you on the Capetown Whites. Been there 3 times, though I've never been able to get underwater while there. No diving or hunting. Just fishing.

:thankyou:

Geez... I dive outside a cage with great whites frequently... but usually I just don't know they are there. We had a number of GWS sightings off Catalina this summer, mostly munching on sea lions but also one munched on a stand-up paddleboard (the young girl was bounced off it but climbed on board another one safe and sound). We had a recent sighting my a GUE friend of mine (Steve Millington) at 160 fsw off Ship Rock. He told me it looked as big as a school bus. I had one swim by me a few years ago according to my dive buddy Wyland... but of course I didn't get to see it because it snuck behind me!
