Sign me up for two discount coupons, please. It's my birthday weekend and my wife and I are coming to STL from Springfield, IL to do the dive show, art gallery, science museum, STL Rep Theatre on Sunday and goofing off a little.

Let me know where the Happy Hour will be. Need chips? Also, where would I get the 50% discount coupon.

Oooh that's an idea! Hmmm! We could do the dive on Sunday since the show will be Friday and Saturday. What are the water temps???

You would probably need to dive dry for this place (knowing your tolerance for cold water). I have yet to visit but was actually thinking of visiting it that weekend and then also the dive show. Anyway the temps are well known and don't ever change. From the website for the mine:
"Our Billion Gallon Lake is 58 (Degree F) and not affected by outside temperatures, there are no thermo clines. Air temperature is 62 (Degree F) year round."

SHOW UPDATE:

The show is now Sat and Sun.. the 5th and 6th with the set up on the 4th so that leaves any diving out for me.

Plus I may be flying directly to DC afterwards... if not before...due to a family matter so I will not e able to stay any longer than the show.

If the show is a success we'll be back next year and and plan something then!

Why Fast Eddie's?: my birthday is at the end of September and my best friend's is at the beginning of October, so every year we pick the weekend between our birthdays to celebrate at Fast Eddie's. This year that weekend coincides with the dive show, so I'm including my dive buddies in on the fun!

About the Venue:
In 1921 Anheuser Busch decided to open a drinking establishment in the picturesque river town of Alton, Illinois. A yellow brick building known as Bon-Air, was constructed right on the corner of three streets, 4th, Pearl and Broadway. Approximately ten years later, Busch had to sell the tavern due to a change in the statutes, which prohibited breweries from owning drinking establishments.
Sam Balaco, and later his son Lotteo, owned and operated the Bon-Air for 50 years. Then in 1981, in a move that would change history forever, Eddie Sholar (alias Fast Eddie) purchased Bon-Air. Things began to change – FAST!
In the more than twenty years that Fast Eddie has owned Bon-Air, it has quadrupled in size going from 80 chairs (and a few beer cases) to over 400 chairs. And on the weekends, standing room becomes a premium commodity!Each weekend features the best in live entertainment: Sable, Fantasy, Planet Boogie and Ultraviolets, just to name a few. Until you've played Bon-Air, you haven't played anywhere.
A food bar, added due to popular demand, serves an assortment of grilled burgers, shish-kabobs, bratwurst and boiled shrimp all sold at the same low prices as when they were added nineteen years ago. So…we now have an establishment that has become the hot spot of the Midwest!

I'd love to come. Do you need help more on a particular day? I can make Saturday until about 2-ish, or Sunday for most of the day. Would also love to come to happy hour; have to do a software release Saturday afternoon though, hence the early departure.

Hey Chris...can we plan on Sunday? Since we are very light with help at this show... having you all day Sunday helps more than half of Saturday. Hopefully you can meke the Happy Hour/Birthday party for Jen as well! (Well for at least a little while!)

And we'll take ANY time you can give on Saturday in addition to hearing John speak and attending our HH. Just call me when you get to the show and we'll walk a badge out to you. ANYONE helping us all day on Sunday gets a free pass for Sat too!
