After reading more and more articles recently in dive magazines the Red Sea area is high on my "to do" list. This area just seems like such a great option. I think there are live-aboard and land based options for the area. I know that politically it's a bit uncertain right now which is too bad but even so this is still on the top of my list if we can get there.

Heck, since we are out this far. Anyone thought of diving the Cook Islands. Given the favorable currency and a deal for $1330 including Air out of LAX, it would be an interesting trip to try.

Figured I would share this with anyone that was interested in diving Bikini Atoll eventually. I recently watched a great documentary on the events that occurred there. The documentary was called "Secrets of the Dead: World's Biggest Bomb". I watched it on Netflix but I'm sure it might be available in other places.

Summary Description on Netflix:
"In 1951, the world's largest hydrogen bomb was detonated at Bikini Atoll in the Pacific Ocean. This documentary investigation of the blast's fallout (both literal and otherwise) includes testimony from witnesses as well as archival footage."

I've thrown it out there for 2015 also, I keep getting great feedback from friends that have gone to the Pacific and Costa Rica and Cocos. Lots of stuff to do below and above the water. Definitely would be really interested to get out there.
