Thank you Tim we'll get you on the list!

Thank you Bill we'll get you on the list as well!

Mike/Greg... the lights come with a carrying case if that is what you mean. Its a really nice zippered bag that holds the light and the charger. In fact I have consolidated and been able to put both of my lights and chargers into one bag. Its a bit snug but it works and that is one less thing in hand carry. And YES you can hand carry these lights thru TSA. In fact they have a safety switch you can turn on that prevents them from turning on by accident in your luggage or by TSA who then can't figure out how to turn them off. Due to the high light output...they can get pretty warm if used for extended periods of time out of water. Although mine have been used for MANY purposes besides diving. Did I mention they can light up some serious real estate at night??? :cool1:/>

Have seen the pm but have not replied yet. I am trying to wait as long as possible on the group buy so the most people can participate. OTOH...if someone needs the light sooner vs later PLEASE let me know so I can either break the order in two or try to just get those lights quickly.

Greg when you say 800p I'm guessing you mean 800 photo correct? That is the one with the red light.

Kamala,

After some thought and budget analysis I'm going to go in on this group purchase. Please put me down for one (1) 1200 Photo.

Hopefully anyone else that is thinking of purchasing will add to the list. There's a ton of trips coming up that I'm sure these would be useful on. Posted Image

Sure you can, just need to get a tray and flex arm for the GoPro.

Excellent to everyone...we'll put you on the list. Fortunately I can do 'several' group buys so for those peeps ready we can do on in Aug. Let me know who's ready early for the first group buy?

Also Shellig the 500 is the most economical model BUT its best setting will be at the highest output. At the highest output you will get the least amt of burn time. So for example if you get the 500 you'll have 65 mins of continuous burn time at 500 lumens. That should last 2 dives or 1.5 dives IF you remember to turn them off during the dive. (Its easy to forget especially if you are videoing a lot or a lot of action.) If you get the 1200 its designed to run 65 mins at 1200 lumes or twice that at 600 lumens. In other words...you will easily get 2 dives at 600 lumens leaving the light on for the entire dive or 3+ dives if you turn it off.

Of course if you want a LOT of light then you need the higher lumens. I find the 1200 to be the best combination of video light, strobe replacement for pictures, and dive light. (At nite you only use the 1200 on the LOWEST setting which is less than 500 lumens and you have AMAZING light at night)

If anyone has any doubts about what a sola can do...check out some recent video footage I shot HERE and HERE.

And check ALL my pictures here on SD as well as on FB...EVERY ONE OF MY PICS has been taken using a sola instead of a strobe. In the end you can't beat the versatility and the ease of use, ease for traveling, etc.
