Even though the men came in 2nd (haha) during Battle of the Sexes, it was worth it just to have the memory of "The Mike Forman Grill".
Had a GREAT time meeting all of you! I am really looking forward to diving adventures!
Hope you all had fun at the Lake, and good luck Seawitch on your AOW! Hope it wasn't too cold!

I want to say first off -- Thank you for coming to the MOST AWESOME SD PARTY EVER!
I also wanted to give a very very sincere thank you to all the girls that helped get my house and myself looking rather spooky and evil-like!!
Okay so here's Vanessa's version of what happened!
The Party
We got a chance to get dressed up or down, eat, drink, and be merry playing "Loaded Questions", "Would You Rather" and "Battle of the Sexes".. all of which had their rather interesting and intensely funny moments! And I probably also now know more than I probably ever should about my current and future dive buddies!
I can also guarentee that I will probably NEVER live down the Mike Foreman grill but I did score bonus points for knowing what a birdie was!! BUT HEY REGARDLESS -- WOMEN ROCK!!!
We also didn't eat the hamburgers until 3:00 in the morning -- being otherwise occupied and ultimately didn't kick the last non-staying guest out until 4:15 am.. just to get up and get Volky off to her AOW and Drew and Myself off to try our first attempt at drysuits!
The Morning After
After taking multiple doses of caffeine Drew and I hit the road to Rawlings at 8:15 and met up with Lani and Jeff at the quarry. We spent approximately 2 1/2 hours getting suited up in drysuits--funny pictures will be forthcoming!
The real interesting part is when we go into the water... and started going down. Since I was thinking I had it all figured out I switched the valve from automatic to manual and suddenly.. my feet fly up and sent me into a spin with my head hanging down.
My wonderful buddies after a minute of being amused managed to save me from myself and attempt at doing the twirl. After getting the air out of the suit.. we continued the dive.. and I thankfully stopped playing with my drysuit.
For our second dive.. we had to give the drysuits back and continued on in our normal, much colder wetsuit gear AND GUESS WHAT?? We all dove MUCH MUCH better..
Really... We had an awesome, awesome time and I am resolved to spend more time practicing with the drysuit AND to throw a lot more SD partys. You guys are great and I look forward to diving with you in the future!!!

I'm thinking we'll be losing to you all on the costume front BUT we will be a close race for 'wild and crazy time had by all' category!
P.S. MORE PICTURES!!!

I haven't had that much fun since I had a kidney removed after losing a poker game in Beirut a few years back.
No, seriously, I had a blaaaaaasssst! What a lot of fun. Prince and the Revolution, the Bangles, Michael Jackson when Thriller was the weirdest thing he'd done so far, tell-all games -- and answers -- that are probably illegal in some states. Three a.m. burgers that were absolutely kickin. cool stuff. Too bad Halloween comes only once a year.
And cool pics. Thanks WG for posting them. Henceforth, I wish to be known as the Scuba Mullah. Will post a couple of my own as soon as I can figure out the process.
And after the drysuit dive at Rawlings on Saturday, I think we should call WG the Whirling Dervish. Not that I was any better in that space suit. It was definitely an interesting experience, and something that obviously takes some getting used to.
Good spot, some interesting underwater terrain and relics. Was definitely cool -- especially in the literal sense of the word -- trying to circumnavigate the quarry.
We should all head down to Rawlings again sometime soon -- before it gets entirely too cold. I can definitely use the nav. practice. Don, look forward to diving with you one of these days.
Looking forward to diving with everyone in Key West.

I had a great time. I went to do my AOW checkout dives after only two hours of sleep but it was worthy. By the way, don't ever try to wake up WG and talk to her. She speaks in tongues,
I'll post more pictures as soon.
The AOW went great. The weather was beautiful and the water was not as cold as expected. I could not have asked for better conditions or better dives. So, I'm your newest AOW certified diver,
Don, it was great to meet you, and look forward to diving with you soon.
Can't wait to get to Key Largo!!!!
