Hi Kamala,

I just wanted to confirm, I think you wrote it somewhere else, but I think this is a good place to address it anyway, there is no problem with TSA in terms of packing these lights in your carry-on luggage right? Even though they are factory sealed, and batteries can't be removed?

Thanks Kamala, great idea for a thread!

The internal battery is way below the 100 Whr limit for carry-on.
Sola lights have an 'airplane mode' which makes accidental turn on impossible.
Carry the instructions with you and you can show the tsa that they are permitted (if you can find a tsa that can read).

Thanks Racer, just the info I was looking for! I won't hold my breath on the TSA figuring it out, but I thinkKam travels with them on her carry on so they must be used to seeing them, I hope.

I have had NO issues with TSA with my sola lights... I wish I could say the same for everything I travel with!

Just remember to use the LOCK on the top of the light so your light can't be turned on accidently! They get HOT and you don't want them melting something in your luggage!

Well only problem with TSA as there is no consistency even with in the same terminal at an airport. You can carry the instructions but they dont care as they will make up or change rules at the drop of the a hat.

I travel with all sorts of gear (computer, photo and dive gear), you would be amazed at some of what I have witnessed. Sadly outside of the US none of this security theater is done and never encountered any of the rude unprofessional behavior and theft I have with TSA.
