Hey everyone...most of you know that we use t-shirt sales and other items sold to help SD.com generate a few extra bucks to give to our charities we find when we visit each country we dive in. Its a very simple 'Ambassador Program' and it allows us to simply and easily make a small difference wherever we go diving.

One of the organizations we donate too.. the Brody Children's Home in Roatan has a far greater ongoing need and coincidentally a number of our members have asked if they/we can help out. I have been corresponding with the Home's director and I've been learning about the challenges faced by the home and how we may be able to help!

I am finalizing the best way to get the funds we raise to the home without being eaten up by expensive wire fees, Western Union fees etc. as well as how to be able to report back to us the results of the funds raised i.e. receipts, progress, etc.

I think I have this nearly worked but I need the following from our members...

1. Discussion from our community if we want to take an add'l step and offer more ad hoc assistance to one organization other that what we do on a trip by trip basis. Meaning do we want to attempt to make more regular donations to one organization and in particular the Brody Children's Home?
2. If the answer is YES then what is the best way to facilitate it?
3. Should we put a small team of members together to help organize and manage donations rec'd?
4. Should we put a small team of members together (the same or different) to help promote the cause and/or educate people about our efforts?

So let me know what your thoughts are and how we should proceed. Thank you! kamala
