Hey gang...the time has finally arrived where I can get caught up on all the things you have been patiently waiting for over the past few months. I'm in SC and I'll be literally working around the clock to get things caught up and completed.

So thank you for your patience and understanding as I have struggled with 5 funerals since Christmas 3 family and 2 of my closest friends as well as becoming the primary trustee for my brain damaged cousin who's special needs have been piling up since his parent's death and the death of our uncle who stepped in to help him. Now it has fallen to me and there is no one else to hand off too due to the behavioral aspects of the brain damage. In other words he is a handful that everyone else is afraid of. :( So while he may be 40 years old...he acts like a 20 year old in a 40 year's old body. Please keep him and I in your prayers and good thoughts as I end up becoming the parent I did not have the good fortune to become...until perhaps now.

Life gives us many blessings...sometimes we don't recognize them. I am praying these challenges will enable me to dig deeper and be even stronger then I've ever been before.

:thankyou: all again for your understanding, support and patience. Kamala

Sorry to hear all that, Kamala.

I recommend coming to Florida and have yourself a little dive vacation; I know just the group you should dive with starting August 23 :-)

1997 was my year from hell. Jan 1st both parents were in the hospital. Dad died Jan 8. I took 8 weeks FMLA to help my mom. Returned to work and was handed a pink slip. The ex decided it was the perfect time to stop paying child support. Our boys were high school seniors. I did the math and hung the for sale sign on our home. In the first quarter of the year I lost my dad, my job and my home. You'll find out you are incredibly strong and it's amazing what you can do when you're on your knees. A few may keep kicking while you're trying to get up but most others and faith will raise you up. You'll look back and say if I got through that difficult time I can get through anything. I'm very sorry for all of your losses. 5 in less than a year is a bit much for anyone to handle. And then the added challenge of caring for your cousin. He's lucky to have you! Hugs and prayers from the Pacific Northwest. If there's anything I can do to lighten your load please ask.

I would never say "I know what you're going through," but I had what must've been a somewhat similar experience when I was my Mom's caregiver during the final three years of her life. She had dementia and congestive heart failure. As the only child, caring for her was solely on me. It was the roughest three years of my life, but also the most important. God bless you and your cousin as you go through this period of your lives.

I lost several people close to me in a span of less than 18 months. The stress and grief is not additive, it's multiplicative. Add to that the fear of when or if it will ever end.
