So, how flexible would we be with the tour package? Is it, for example, possible to do the tour package but without the Otovalo/Equator trip? Or would that complicate things too much?

UPDATE & QUESTION ANSWERING:

I am working with her on what our final tour pkg configuration will be since it has to change slightly NOW that we can add San C. To add San C we have to be pretty flexible on what she can finalize for the day before...it was the tradeoff I had to make. That being said there is also massive road construction so our tour options *may* have to change slightly in that we can do either the market & city tour or the equator and city tour but *maybe* not both the market and the equator. I should know early this week what impact if any the road construction has.

So to answer your question...I had to agree to a basic pkg that included 3 nites hotel Dec 26, 27, 28 ...two in Quito and 1 in San Cristobal and it includes a day of touring on the 27th from Quito and then fly to San C the 28th and tour and then board the boat the 29th IN EXCHANGE for getting to go to San C a day early. The only exceptions are Sherri & I because we arrive the 27th.

So the only days you can be flexible with are Dec 25th, 26th and Jan 6th onward. Does that answer your questions?

UPDATE:

When our tour operator was trying to get us the early flights AND the extra rooms we added more people to the trip. Now we are having some rooming issues and so far need as follows:

1. 3 people willing to do a triple
2. Several people ok with being away from the group (we may have possibly 1-2 rooms there
3. I also told her I would stay in Quito and just join up with the group if I had too in order to make the numbers work if we can't do a triple and/or she does not find 2 more rooms. She is contacting the remaining 2 hotels and bed and breakfasts on the island.

Let us know just how flexible you are willing to be to make the turtles work? Thank you, Kamala

Jenny and I are ok with with staying at another hotel if it helps the cause, as long as it's on par with the original hotel.

I'll do whatever you need. It's only for the 1 night right? Are there 3 beds? Pleas make sure I have a room for the 25th too. I'd like a single in Quito if possible. I arrive at 5:30pm not 8pm. I think I'm the only one coming in that early.

I'm as flexible as they come! Set me up as a triple, double, single, whatever! I can also stay at a hotel farther away if needed. I will be arriving on the 26th at 2:00 p.m.

The limited hotel space is for the one night when we arrive one day early on San Cristobal Island. This island is small, which means limited choices for everything.

Besides, for one night it really doesn't matter - - as long as there's private indoor plumbing, a bit of hot water in the shower, I'll do the triple, or double, or single, at whatever hotel or QUIET hostel is available.

Dennis...yes its firm...final pricing is not fully set because we still need int'l flights from several people still in the process of signing up and we need to nail down the final rooming for San C. I will advise when you all can pay... trust me!

GOOD NEWS....

A hotel 3 blocks away from where our original group hotel is has had 2 more cancellations for our dates. This means NO TRIPLES!!!

However they are a few bucks more than the original hotel i.e $30 per person for the d/o and $50 for the single occupancy. At least one gal asked for a single room if it was possible and the last gal I brought on the trip wanted one since she was a referral from the boat (don't worry we'll assimilate her on the trip!) But in the meantime I am trying to figure out which gal said she would do a single room so I can make the rooming work.

And if we don't fill the last male spot VERY VERY SOON we won't be able to get air and we'll need a guy willing to do a s/o as well.

Several of you whom I know are already spread thin to be on this trip I have put you in the original more economical accommodations. Those of you who I know prefer a bit more luxury I have put you in the slightly more expensive accommodations.

However to be certain I am correct and to cover those I don't well yet...can you all please let me know as follows:

1. I can go to the slightly higher priced hotel which is slightly larger and slightly nicer for $30 extra for the one night d/o or $50 extra s/o? Yes or no? If yes s/o or d/o?
2. I prefer to do a single room or I can do a single room if needed? If yes at which hotel or does it not matter?


With this information I can lock in the rooming for our extra night in San Cristobal and start to get invoicing to everyone.
