SHOREDIVING SURVEY...IMPORTANT PLEASE HELP US OUT!!!

Hey gang,

Sometimes its hard to find a buddy to go shorediving when you don't know people really well. So let's use this thread to help us allow you to get the MOST out of your shorediving experience. Please tell us the following:


1. Who wants to shoredive during the week? And how often? (This will help you have an idea of who to buddy up with)

2. Who wants to do a 'Day of Arrival' shoredive IF its available? (Typically its not because its the one day the staff gets off and the rest of the staff supports the dive orientation since we are such a big group.)

3. Who wants to shoredive on Friday before leaving instead of zipline, touring, etc? NOTE: The 'all inclusive shorediving" is during your diving package. Shorediving on Friday and/or Saturday usually has approx a $25 add'l fee. We can sometimes get this waived but I need to know how many people REALLY want to dive this day? If you are doing BOTH weeks I should be able to get this waived but again I need to know who REALLY wants to do it?

4. And for those who ARE STAYING BOTH WEEKS.... what if any extra days of diving are you wanting to do? The pkg does not include boat nor shorediving during your extra days but I should be able to get some latitude once I know how people want to do what? Shorediving only and when? Boat diving? etc.

Question #2 - I'd be in for a shoredive on the arrival afternoon (Week #1)

#1 I will be shorediving every day if possible Both week. A couple of night dives would be fun as well.

#2 Will want to do a weight check dive (new equipment) on the afternoon of the arrival on week 1.

#3 I will want to shoredive on the Friday.

#4 May or may not take day of on Saturday between the two weeks

I'll want to shore dive as often as possible, nights too. I'm there the two weeks so would be happy to shore dive between the weeks. I'm a SDI certified solo diver if that makes any difference (probably not). Anyway, just adding my $.02.

I get into Roatan at 11 am so will be happy to shore dive on day of arrival too.

I would like to do the on arrival shore dive if available as a checkout dive.

I would do any between week shore dives that are available when boat dives are not normally offered

I would probably do any night shore dives that are offered

Other than that, two weeks of boat diving will probably be enough

I'll dive whenever I can and I'm not too fussy about who has to look after me. However I might have to socialize a tad as well.

Week #1

Arrive Saturday, Oct 18th, in plenty of time to get the gear down to the dive locker AND have a late afternoon &/or night shore dive, but only if the dive fee is waived.

Sunday, Monday - - late afternoon/night shore dive

Tues - - boat night dive; if no boat night dive, then another late afternoon/night shore dive

Wed, Thurs -- late afternoon/night shore dive

Friday Morning, Oct 24th - at least one morning shore dive, maybe two, I'll be finished diving by noon. I'd pay the $25 fee to dive this day.

Yes, diving on arrival day
Yes, shore diving during the week, late afternoon or night dives (maybe even a few "drop-off" dives on the way back from the afternoon dive.)
Yes, shore diving on the Friday morning - Anyone up for a Sunrise dive?

I'm a go with the flow kinda person. If I haven't had a cocktail yet and someone wants to dive I'm in the pool. And, a checkout dive on arrival would be an excellant idea as my last dive was Solomon Islands August 2013. After an 18 hour commute, complete with a 6 hour layover in Dallas a dive would be great but, my flight doesn't get to Roatan until 2:00 on Saturday. By the time I get checked into the resort it might be too late to get it done before happy hour/orientation/Scuba Cowboy. How long does it take to get from the airport to the resort?
