I'd probably pay the fee to shore dive at these times.

Dave L

Thank you. THAT is what I also need to know...just in case I can't negotiate out of it since they have to pay staff overtime to come in and work.

I'd like to shore dive on arrival on Saturday (Week 1) and Friday morning before we head out. I probably won't do it if there's a fee, since I'll have to rent gear too. Thanks!

Yes, I'd like to shore dive on day of arrival (week 1). Probably yes for Friday and probably yes for one night dive. I wouldn't want to pay much for this, though, considering I'm doing the Barburetta Island trip and am losing out on a normal day of diving that I've paid for but won't be taking advantage of. Thanks!

1. During the week (Week #1) - I will shore dive during the week anytime outside of ziplining and the orphanage visit and of course FOOD TIME! :)
2. Day of arrival (Week #1) - I'm totally in!
3. Friday - NO ... ziplining
4. 2 Weeks - NO

Hi.... Yes, I want to shore dive, as often as possible. Can you tell us "when it's free" and "when there's a fee" ? I is kinda mixed up about this! Posted Image

PAID VS FREE SHOREDIVING:

Worst Case Scenario:

1. You pay for day of arrival shore diving approx $25-$30
2. You pay for Friday shorediving our non-diving day approx $25-$30 for 2 tanks
3. You pay for Saturday shorediving if not flying that day approx $25-$30 for 2 tanks
4. You get FREE shorediving on all boat diving pkg days...i.e. Sun-Thurs.

Best Case Scenario:

I can get one or more of the fees waived that would normally be charged.

Sylvia does that help?

Hi Kamala... Yes, thank you for clarifying!

I think you've been to this resort before (I have not). I read some different posts on the web today (don't remember where) that indicated that the shore diving area at the resort is somewhat smallish... what's your recollection about that? If so, I would be just as happy to limit my shore diving to the free days. I suppose one could make a case for day-of-arrival shore diving if gear check is needed. (I just did that on Sunday, so I feel OK about that.) If most divers want to do gear check, and you are able to get anything waived, then Friday might be the most opportune time for folks? Just a thought.....

Shore diving at media luna is easy. You have a 5 minute swim to a wall dive. I had fun every time it did it last year.

I agree with barilhu. The wall drop off was pretty close to shore, less than a 5 minute swim out. I would pull out my foldable snorkel and surface swim out to the edge of the wall and descend there. Then you make a left and follow along the wall against the current and ride it back to the resort over the top of the wall.

The wall has some nice overhangs and swim thrus and the top of the wall is covered in corals. Most days we were on our way back at dusk and we saw several squids, big lobsters, puffer fish, eels and octopus. I went on a shore dive after the afternoon boat dive almost everyday last year and it was great, highly recommend getting some in! Enjoy!! Posted Image

I get in on Saturday afternoon, so I will shore dive if possible.
Not sure about Friday, but open to it.

Sorry for the delay... got back from Europe tonight

If everything runs on schedule (arrival Roatan 2:00) check into resort by 4:00 - I really need to do a check out dive. Will someone/anyone be available for a quick dive somewhere around 4:30?
