I was down in my "diving room" today taking inventory and wanted to know how many regulators do you have?

When all was said and done here is what I have now

Two full sets for diving doubles (4 firsts and 4 seconds with 7 foot primary hoses and 2 gauges)

Two full "recreational regulators ( 2 firsts and 4 seconds,2 gauges)

Two oxygen clean deco regs 2 firsts and 2 seconds with gauges

Lisa's recreational set. 1 first and 2 seconds. full hoses and gauges

Last is a box with 2 Mares mr12 first stages, 2 Poseidon seconds and 5 working seconds

If my math is correct that's 11 firsts and 19 seconds.

The first step in recovery is admitting you have a problem.  :wow:

Each wreck has a tale to tell about its life and its demise.

If you are observant while diving in dark places listen to the account each has to tell, You cannot come away unaffected.

I keep two complete sets of standard regs in the bag; even traveling the extra weight is negligible and has saved at least three dive trips I can recall.... and my recaller ain't what it used to be. :diver:

Jerry not sure I would call your list excessive; such a comprehensive set of various rigs with reasonable redundancy makes sense given the wide variety of dive profiles you are able to enjoy. The box of spares is bound to accumulate over time, and unless your Dive Room is running OUT of room, worth keeping.... or is my packrat gene showing? :P

When I started diving, I purchased two complete sets, as I occasionally dove with double 80's.  For years, that was sufficient.  Over the years, a first or second stage was replaced, and I continued diving with my regular set up, and one spare in reserve ( I got too old to deal with double 80"s ).  A few years back, while getting ready for a trip and checking my gear, I had a regulator flowing.  Without a local dive shop, no one was able to promise having it back within a couple of weeks, so I bought another first and second stage.  Then, on a Truk trip, I took the solo class, so I picked up another first and second stage for the bail out bottle.  What is now my main set up, has a fairly new Oceanic first stage ( 18 months old ), and it was squealing very bad on a recent trip.  I sent it in for service, only to be told that service kits are on back order for over a month.  If I end up diving in the next couple of months, I will be buying another first stage prior to the trip.  Other wise, I will have time to get it serviced.  End result, I seem to be gathering more and more over time.  Not close to the numbers that Gerry has, but a lot more equipment than a non diver thinks I should need.  They just don't understand.
