I'm headed for Miami, Monday the 24th of July, for two weeks. Will be working at the car rental center at the airport. Was thinking of bringing my gear, if there is anybody there that knows of a close and good dive, or dives.

You could either go north to the West Palm Beach / Jupiter area or south to the keys.   The "Best of Florida" thread has information on where SD is diving in late August.

The Blue Heron Bridge in West Palm Beach is a great shore dive, you have a little drive, but you also do not have to pay for a boat.  It is a shallow dive, so long bottom time, diverse in sealife.  Time your dive so that you enter 1/2 hour to an hour before high tide.  1/2 hour is recommended, my last dive was almmost 2 hours long, so however long you plan on diving have the planned middle of your dive at high tide.  Parking is can be an issue on weekends.

Hey Mike....sorry for the late reply. If you took your dive gear there is some great deeper wreckdiving off Miami and of course all the great spots the others mentioned. Once I am down there I will discover more but I'm pretty sure we will be creating the SingleDivers.com retirement community in So Fl very soon! ;)
