Has anyone been able to find out what kind of power they have on the boat? 110 / 220 - need to figure out my converters?
POWER NEEDS:
I am VERY sorry for the delay. Sadly the Siren does NOT have both 110 and 220. They ONLY have 220V and the 2 pin styled pronged plugs so we need a universal adapter AND a power converter to take 220v power and step it down to 110.
You will need BOTH. The universal adpt is easy and cheap and allows US plugs to fit into european and asian plugs.... the converter actually takes the 220v power and steps it down so it will not FRY your electronics.
HELPFUL HINTS:
1. You only need the step down for the following things:
a. Hair dryers UNLESS it is BOTH 110/220 which many are.
b. any electronic that is NOT BOTH 110/220 i.e elec toothbrush for example. (and even some of them are now adays)
You will NOT need a stepdown for the following:
1. Laptop as 99% of computers have an power converter built into them.
2. Most camera battery chargers do NOT need a stepdown (check yours)
3. Most rechargeable battery chargers for strobes
4. Most go pro accessories
HOW TO TELL...look to see if INPUT = $110-240 and your device is safe....you only need the US plug to 2 hole pronged adapters.
TIP: If all your electronics allow for 110-240 input then simply get 1 2 prong pin styled adpt and a power strip. Plug the power strip THAT ALSO ALLOWS 110/220 input and you can plug them all into the power strip and the power strip into the 2 pin hole adpt and that into the socket.
If you do not have a power strip that allows 110-240 input then you will need a step down converter AND at least 1 adpt and a power strip to plug your chargers into.
NOTE: I have asked the boat if they have power strips and how many...stay tuned.
