I got a message from one of our divers looking at this trip asking how people are routing to the Philippines aka PI?  Her question is

 

I'd like to know if anyone has opinion on which airport to make connecting flight. I would be leaving out of Newark. Also if anyone will be staying a day or two in China or Japan prior to arrival in Manila. And how to connect with everyone for ride from airport to resort.

Hi, Susan!  I suspect we won't be overlapping until we get to Manila ;-)  I fly directly from Vancouver BC to Manila, arriving VERY early in the morning of April 7!

Hi Susan! My dive buddy Kathie and I are meeting in Honolulu for a few days, then flying direct from there on April 5-6. We should arrive at 4:30 PM on Saturday April 6. We are staying at the Hilton Manila. Jaque

Hi Susan, hope you join us. I am routing through LAX direct to Manila, but I'm arriving Manila on April 1, and going to Sablayan (on the same island as Puerto Galera) to dive Apo Reef, before I meet the group at the resort. I'm not doing the 2nd week at Anilao, so I'm returning to Manila on the 14th, will spend the night somewhere near the airport, and fly back direct to LAX on Philippines air on the 15th.

Hi Susan,  I am a last minute sign-up just for the Anilao trip.  I am leaving out of Newark on 4/12 staying staying overnight in Manila on 4/13 connecting through Hong Kong.  On the 21st, I have an overnight in Manila, leaving 5;30am on the 22, again connecting via Hong Kong.  Stefan

Thanks all. I ended up getting flight via Hong Kong but am arriving in Manila 12:30am on the 7th. So I'm hoping to get on shuttle van with everyone on the 1st week.

Thanks to all for sharing their plans and routings. I have just made the final details with the resort and will send the pick up times from the group hotels a bit later today.
