Went for dives in Nassau, Freeport and Keywest last week.... very glad I had a 5mm.  Probably will need a hood on the trip as I’m sure my core temp will get colder as the dives go!

Christie smart cookie! Did you happen to make note of the air and water temperatures in general for your dives? Plus plenty of time to augment your thermal gear. Excellent! :diver:

When can we expect to see the hotel add on?

Sandra now that Kamala is back from her Dominica scouting / assessment trip she is getting the final costs from the Extra Nights group hotel. Once she has those, she will advise the final pricing to everyone and how to pay.

We appreciate your patience and assure everyone listed for a specific number of Extra Nights in the Add Ons section in the first post "Topic #4 Who's Going", the reservations are made, we just need the pricing to complete the process.

Hope This Helps :diver:

Hey! Starting to work on my packing list and I have some questions.

Are any toiletries provided on the boat (soap?) or should we plan on bringing everything?

Are gloves allowed?

I notice they suggest packing mask, regs, and dive computer in carryon in case of delayed luggage. Would they be able to provide everything else if that happened last- minute? What should we do if we arrive and our luggage doesn't?

They also recommended bringing a repair kit. I always have a few extra o-rings and silicone grease, but should I plan on bringing tools as well?

What kind of jacket/boat coat do you recommend? Would a Surf-Fur be overkill?

Any other things people tend to forget, or things people bring that they shouldn't?

Also, my flight was just changed; instead of arriving in Provo at 8pm, I'm now landing at 10:11pm. Asking here because I might not be the only one. Is this going to be a problem in terms of getting to the boat, boarding, leaving on time?

Thanks!

Please bring your own light... with 20 people on the boat we can't bring enough for everyone...BUT we can bring some really cool lights for people to TRY in case they don't own one or you are in the market for a new one or just want to see what is out there!

I expect to have about 4-5 lights that people can try!  Great question!

My replies are in red. I'm sorry I did not see this earlier with the holidays and some family matters.

Hey! Starting to work on my packing list and I have some questions.

Are any toiletries provided on the boat (soap?) or should we plan on bringing everything?

They have shampoo, body wash and conditioner, usually bug spray on the boat for when at the dock as you don't need it at sea and usually sunscreen. We also have info on this in our Packing tips in the TRIP PM.

Are gloves allowed?

No. Most is a marine park so gloves are not allowed. IF you have a medical condition and must wear gloves to keep the sun off your hands...simply cut the finger tips off and you'll be 'technically legal'.

I notice they suggest packing mask, regs, and dive computer in carryon in case of delayed luggage. Would they be able to provide everything else if that happened last- minute? What should we do if we arrive and our luggage doesn't?

I would also include at least one swimsuit and one chg of clothes in your carry on if you can plus meds. The rest you can borrow from other gals on the trip. The boat will have other gear but the personal gear such as mask, computer etc is hardest to replace.

If your bags do not arrive find out when the next flight from the same departure city will arrive. Let me know and you and I will let the boat know and we will see if it arrives the next day. Sometimes we can make arrangements for delayed luggage to get to the boat. USUALLY it is best to arrive a day early to avoid this. FORTUNATELY luggage usually arrives ok to PLS.

They also recommended bringing a repair kit. I always have a few extra o-rings and silicone grease, but should I plan on bringing tools as well?

The boat will have basic repairs so I would not worry about that. If you have a special tool for a camera or your computer then bring that but the boat should have most of what you need.

What kind of jacket/boat coat do you recommend? Would a Surf-Fur be overkill?

Whatever will keep the wind off you or keep you warm. I FREEZE so I bring a warmer coat. The air temps will be in the 80's but every person is different.

Any other things people tend to forget, or things people bring that they shouldn't?

See the packing tips in the TRIP PM.

Also, my flight was just changed; instead of arriving in Provo at 8pm, I'm now landing at 10:11pm. Asking here because I might not be the only one. Is this going to be a problem in terms of getting to the boat, boarding, leaving on time?

We will wait for you. YOU NEED TO REVISE YOUR FORM YOU SENT THE BOAT AND LET THEM KNOW YOUR NEW FLIGHT TIME IF YOU HAVE NOT DONE SO ALREADY OR SEND AN EMAIL TO info@explorerventures.com with the T&C Jan 1118 2020 charter FLIGHT CHANGES in the email title. Then let them know and copy us as well. They will advise if there are any issues with the new arrival time.

Thanks!

My pleasure.

for anyone who was following my previous posts about wetsuits, i was able to rent a 5mm suit here at home that is my odd size and fits pretty good.  i really don't think i will need a hoodie of any type, but Kamala do you know if they would have one on board if i wanted one to rent one.  thanks!

I always have one in my dive bag but rarely use it. If you need it, it will be there.

And on the eighth day, God said "OK, Murphy, you take over."

No the boat ONLY has basic things like bc, reg, full foot fins to avoid booties, maybe an extra mask, and 3mill shorties. So if you need anything else you need to bring or borrow. John says he has a hood so you are covered....literally! Tks,
