THE DEAL...(Update as of 6-11-19... the pricing for both tours below IS in fact based upon 11 people or more per tour for that price. I have requested revised pricing so will revise the pricing upwards to reflect the 1-10 price per person once I have it all inhouse. HOWEVER if any tour option gets the 11 people on it we will REFUND the difference back to you once we achieve the higher price break. I'm sorry for the confusion. Kamala)

Hello gang...as you can imagine coordinating so many vendors and logistics to make these AMAZING TOURS come together are challenging. I am about 98% done but missing few exact prices. I am posting the itinerary first and the estimated pricing which will be pretty close once I finalize the last few details early next week. Plus we will have an early booking incentive we will share as soon as the final pricing is confirmed early next week. Our plan is to open this up by the weekend.

So here is the plan....

View ancient Egypt and then cruise the iconic Nile River where we will meet up with those doing the shorter Cairo/Luxor only tour. This package is LOADED and is spectacular.  It is also VETTED, Safe and full of extras such as perfect English speaking guides, extremely well educated and knowledgeable with our own security detail to accompany us as we tour this magical land. Normally they "protect us from the people hawking their wares" but they will also be there should they be needed for anything else.

So if you can swing a few extra days join the Nile part of the tour and if you are time limited then join the Luxor part of the tour...either way...you don't want to miss this!

*We also have a transfer/hotel/domestic air to Hurghada only should you only wish do the diving and not do any touring.

You may choose to join an optional tour to Abu Simbel. Stand before four colossal statues of Ramses II who is surrounded at this feet by smaller statues of his wife Nefertari and daughters. The temple is one of the most impressive sites in Egypt.

Embark your Nile cruise.

After lunch discover the sites of Aswan including Aswan’s High Dam, the Granite Quarries, and the Unfinished Obelisk.

Take a felucca (sail boat) to see Kitchener’s Island with its beautiful gardens and to view the mausoleum of the Agha Khan.

Day 4 - Saturday – May 9 - Aswan/Kom Ombo/Edfu

After breakfast sail in a small boat to the Philae Temple situated on the island of Agilika. Like Abu Simbel, the temple was relocated in order to protect it from the rising water of the High Dam, built in 1960. The main sanctuary on the island is dedicated to the Goddess Isis and her son Horus. Ancient Egyptians believed that Isis was the Goddess of Magic, and when she wept, the Nile flooded.

Return to the ship. Lunch is served as you set sail for the city of Kom Ombo, known as “Ombos” in ancient times. Its location on the Nile, from which the routes from Nubia to the Nile Valley could be controlled, gave it strategic importance. The city became prosperous when the temple was built in the Ptolemaic era. The temple is divided into two symmetrical halves. The left side is dedicated to the falcon-headed god, Heroeris and the right side to the crocodile god, “Sobek”.  Reliefs of Ptolemaic Pharaohs are found in the porch area. The remainder of the temple consists of a crypt, chapels, remains of a birth house, Roman wells where sacred crocodiles may have been kept. On the walls of the temple, you will see the first recorded representation of medical instruments.

Sail onto Edfu, midway between Aswan and Luxor. The ship will dock overnight in Edfu.  This evening join in on a fun evening as you dress up in costumes for an Oriental dinner and party.

  • ACCOMMODATIONS:  AMARCO CRUISE SHIP OR SIMILAR (includes B, L, D)

Day 5 - Sunday – May 10 - Edfu/Luxor

Begin the day by visiting the magnificently preserved temple of Edfu. The sandstone temple of Horus, the Sun God, was built under the Ptolemies and completed by the mid first century, BC. In the colonnaded court, we will see the surviving statue of a pair of falcons representing Horus. A series of smaller chambers leads to the Sanctuary of the God, which is lit by three openings in the ceiling. Ceremonies, celebrations, and war scenes are shown on the walls of the temple.

Later today, you will sail to Esna, pass the lock, and arrive in Luxor, ancient Thebes where you will meet up with the members doing the Luxor/Cairo only tour.

This afternoon explore the East Bank of the Nile including the Temple of Luxor. Here, the Avenue of Sphinxes, famous for its artistic degree of uniformity, leads to the entrance of the temple where a seated colossus of Ramses II and a towering Obelisk sit.

Continue to the Karnak Temple, one of the most impressive monuments of ancient art and architecture in the world. The carvings, which adorn all of the walls, depict the history and conquests of many of Egypt's Pharaohs.

This evening you may choose to return to the Karnak Temple for an exciting Sound & Light Show. The temple comes alive with light, music and narratives.

I have to get the flight times for you to reply to this. I am on the road with limited access. You need to allow a minimum of 3 hrs and preferably 4 from the time you arrive in JFK to the time your flight departs. You will have to have enough time to get your bags from a domestic terminal and then recheck them into the int'l terminal.

Upon return you will need the same 3-4hrs from landing internationally, collecting bags, clearing customs and then rechecking itnto the domestic terminal. I'll get the flight times for you so you can better plan.

We concur with Jason; this is the trip of a life time! Just4trix and I want the full package: Nile tour, Luxor, and a camel ride, please.

UPDATES:

First off thank you for giving us your input. I'm glad most will lean towards the Nile as I am doing as the price I gave *may* be for 10+ people so will be a few bucks more for less than 10. HOWEVER we are well on our way to getting the 10 we need so I will price it for under 10 and then we can adjust if exceed 10 as I hope we do.

The revised pricing landed today and I'm going to be offline for the next 3 days so will sort this all out then. In the meantime I did get some info on the flight times for those curious but it will be in the questions topic and FAQ topic. Thank you! kamala

Update as of 6-11-19... the pricing for both tours below IS in fact based upon 11 people or more per tour for that price. I have requested revised pricing so will revise the pricing upwards to reflect the 1-10 price per person once I have it all inhouse. HOWEVER if any tour option gets the 11 people on it we will REFUND the difference back to you once we achieve the higher price break. I'm sorry for the confusion. Kamala

I know I was showing interest in the Raja Ampat Landbased trip, but I think I'm leaning more towards this liveaboard trip to the Red Sea now. And of course, I'm interested in the Nile tour package so mark me down, but I need to play with some numbers before I can book.

I just booked the dive portion of this trip and want to book my flight (assuming I'll be doing the Nile tour package). The flight I'm looking at from LAX - London - Cairo arrives at 11:30pm on May 6th. If I fly in on May 5th and add an extra night at the same hotel (so I don't have to change rooms) will I still be met by a host at the airport on the 5th of May at 11:30pm?
