BACK UP OR BAIL OUT PLAN FOR OUR RED SEA LIVEABOARD & LANDBASED EGYPT TOUR TRIPS:

 

With travel bans to Europe until April 10th and other restrictions in place...I think our May Red Sea trip will not be impacted. However if we find it is and we need to reschedule it having some input from our members will help me do that quickly and decisively. So please if you are on this trip (or just wished you were and would like to join us if rescheduled) let us know and we will track the dates desired by the PARTICIPANTS as well as possible dates desired by those who wish they could of joined us. Of course we will give preference to our participants but this information will be invaluable to me if I have to reschedule this.

There are too many events in my life that are subject to rescheduling that unfortunately trump dive trips. I will determine my availability closer to the dates. By the way, I have not booked my international flight yet. I may have lucked out
9. Nick aka Malarky - I'm tentative for the October date for the full tour and diving. It's still too dicey to declare a definite yes.June 2021 is out due to other family obligations.

Tom and I would re-book for 2021.  I suggest the same dates in May between your 2 trips.  Dec - Jan are too rough for diving and Plankton bloom in the south (not sure we are going there in April and May.  The Summer months are too hot for touring Cairo. So it leaves Feb (high season), March, May, September, or October (high season).  I think we should see what availability the boat has and go from there.

Thank you all for your input. I  hope it does not boil down to this but we'll do whatever it takes to make it happen.

 

We may encounter rebooking issues on the tickets. Not sure we have to fly within 1 year from issuance or just rebook within on year from issuance. We may be able to basically get a year later sort of option but will have to check into this. We are running into this on the Raja trip as well.

Excellent insight. The best time is May/Jun for all the above reasons. Jun is not too hot but July and Aug are. I've been there in Jun without too many issues but May has more options timewise for the land tour and the diving.

As this is one of those "Trips of a Lifetime," Teresa and I are totally flexible on the dates. Whatever the group decides works best, we support. It sounds like the early June dates for 2021 are what most people can support. I do have some concerns about having to re-book the "get to JFK" portion of our flights for more than 12 months after our original tickets, so that is something we'll have to work on with our individual airlines. However, that is the smallest logistic aspect of this amazing trip. Please do what works best for all concerned; we trust and support the decision you make.

The work around for domestic air is get them to issue travel voucher good for up to a year (be sure to cancel before your travel date but do it as close as you can ...seems 3 days is the magic number but every carrier will be different) and then they issue the future travel voucher good for a year for you to now book travel with. This then extends the window to travel with as you will no longer be limited with the funds...other than using them before the future travel voucher expires. So please check with your carrier AS WELL AS OTHERS and let us know in this same topic what you find out so we can help others.   and
