PURPOSE:

To keep on top of the changing VISA requirements for Indonesia pursuant the March 17, 2020 notification that visa on demand and other automatic visa applications will end effective March 20, 2020 for a period of 30 days until re-evaluated. See the notice below. We will use this topic to share info we can garner on how to proceed with trying to visit Indonesia in spite of the virus and what we have to do to keep our April 18-28, 2020 trip intact if at all possible.  Thank you to the tremendous support from our members getting thru all of this. It is now exceeding what one person can do to remain abreast of all the changes going on.So I truly appreciate the 'divide and conquer' mindset!

Again this topic is ONLY FOR INDONESIA changing Visa Requirements.  :thankyou:

PRELIMINARILY (this is what I could get after finally getting to a person that can help):

What I have been able to discover is ALL PRELIMINARY and needs to be sorted out. But here it is in bullet format to facilitate easier reading.

  • All auto visas are suspended for 30 days to be re-evaluated after that time has passed.
  • The normal visa process involves filling out an application and sending your passport to the embassy to get the visa placed inside your passport and then returned to you. This takes 3-4 days normally.
  • Without the auto visa and visa on demand options we will have to do the manual visa process WITH the addition of a health certificate.
  • The health certificate must be from your doctor and issues within 7 days of traveling so you will need to coordinate that visit timing carefully. It must say:
  1. You are able to travel safely
  2. You are free from any respiratory disease or symptoms including cough, sore throat, difficultly breathing, fluid in the lungs etc. (we need a more comprehensive list as the doctor must state you are free of all these symptoms but ALSO anticipated to be free of them for the ENTIRE duration of your trip.
  • We must complete the visa application online (could not get the right web address for this part) and make sure we print out the confirmation, sign and the form and insure them and mail (overnite) to the Embassy that services our state.  NOT SURE IF WE HAVE TO HAVE THE MED FORM WITH IT OR NOT for them to process. They have no idea how long it will take due to this all being new.

ISSUES TO STILL RESOLVE:

The statement says people SHOULD self quarantine upon arrival if no symptoms are found after the initial health check is given when you arrive. (If you have any symptoms they will quarantine you in a govt facility)  But we are still unclear if our trip to Wasai will conform to the 'self quarantine or if that has to be in Bali' and if we have to do it at all. REMEMBER THESE RULES JUST DROPPED SO THE PEOPLE TRYING TO ANSWER QUESTIONS DON'T KNOW MUCH MORE THAN US.

If no initial symptom is found, a 14-day self-quarantine will be strongly recommended.
