...in introducing myself . :wavey:  After all, I am new to the forums and am just now coming to introduce myself.  :dazzler:

My name is Tomi, and I live in the PacNW (Portland area).  I'm not the cold water diving type, namely because cold water makes my fingers hurt.

This just means that I have to travel in order to dive. I got certified in 2016 (in 45 degree water), and I have taken many a diving vacay alone ever since. But, I'm never alone in the world of diving, and I've had the opportunity to meet some amazing people along the way. Diving has given me much in the self-development realm that it has positively carried into other aspects of my personal and professional life.

I found singledivers.com when I was ended up on one of their boats during the Roatan Round-up last fall. What a fantastically wonderful group of people! In fact, having met this group has made me consider further dive travel through singledivers.com, but first, I need to get through DM training and the PADI IDC. That, well, and the world needs to get back to travel.  :)

I like piña coladas, getting caught in the rain...oh, wait, this is not the correct forum.  :lmao:

Actually, what I do like are punny jokes, and I am working on my repertoire for divemaster. Yeah...puns...like:

What do you call DCS in a German diver?

....the Mercedes-Benz

Lost your shorts on the boat ?

A lot of people lose their lunch, some toss their cookies.

One time, while working as a divemaster, I showed up to the boat with nothing to wear under my wetsuit.

Teehee! I love it.

In Roatán, losing my shorts was a daily occurrence. Once, I didn't even notice for 4 days, until changing boats! Luckily, no one stole my shorts!

As for losing lunch and tossing cookies - guilty as charged. But, then I found meclizine, and it was life changing!

No harm no foul...call whenever...and yes you are blessed to still be working but its a double edged sword. I understand. I've been working harder than I have in months...to undo and redo most of what we had going for Mar, Apr, May and recently Jun. I am so ready for the line to stop slipping.

Usually posting new topics helps to fire things up. We have not had one on kids and diving in a really long time. Commenting on those topics helps others feel secure to comment as well. Another great topic would be a summary of when EVERYONE is due to open up again. We'd love for you to start it since it was your idea. This forum would be perfect for it HERE. But we can always move it if needed. A possible title can be Guess when the world opens up for diving? No REALLY...guess or SHARE INFO YOU'VE SEEN!    Or ...     Help Share any Dates you've seen When the World Opens Up for Diving.  Or.... Diving Opening Dates from around the World

You get the idea.  Then click on VIEW NEW CONTENT in the blue header right above the white on the right hand side of the page.  This will show you the new content that has been posted. Then after we get some cool topics going we can cross share them to our FB group to ask them to participate. And with some effort and energy we can 'fire our forums' back up!  :wakawaka:

I bet you've been crazy busy with rescheduling/modifying/etc. This is probably one of the best reasons to take a trip through SD because one is not stuck having to make their own arrangements for changes. Of course, it means that you're doing all that work, but you know the system far better than a lot of folks.

I think a post about the world opening up would be great and will start working on that. Was talking to my LDS owner yesterday about when the world is opening up - and The Points Guy posted an article today summarizing Caribbean openings.

I booked a flight to Roatan for September today with a guesstimate on a return, assuming that 1) Honduras will be open, and 2) I'll get the time that I requested off in October. Thankfully, I'll be able to change without penalties.

I forgot that there is an FB group - I use Twitter for work, but otherwise avoid social media. :blush2:

:blush2:

AWESOME! New topics are great and even better when by new people! Its more attention catching! (That is why I gave you a couple of hints and a place to start it at.)  And when the world opens up is the top question on everyone's mind so just the cozumel info is a good start and we can invite others to post what they have heard. No one knows for sure so it we keep it light...no one will be stressed about posting something they have seen or heard. :wakawaka:

I'm not a huge social media fan but it is one of the top sources for new members so you gotta go where the divers are!  Many people only live in our forums and many only live on FB but we do use our forums for trip management so they all migrate here if they want to travel with us.  LOL!  (and a somewhat evil snicker in the background... bruhahahaha)

Hi and Welcome to SingleDivers.com!

I have been able to visit the PNW a few times and dive while I was there.  Lovely place.  I always say if I was to be kicked out of Minnesota, I would go to the PNW.
