Liz aka FollowLiz's son was severely hurt in a car accident* and is trying to claw his way back to some semblance of a more normal life Her son desperately needs a service dog to help him walk and to steady him They lost out on one they had their hopes on but another one has potentially come available.

and he found an English Mastiff right here locally that looks promising. He is big, has had some training to be a support dog and lives inside. All good things for what Jeremy needs. He just has to get the trainer to meet with dog to assess whether he will work. And we still need the funds for the dog of course.
* In 2013 Jeremy was involved in a horrendous auto accident that left him with several neurological and psychological conditions that impair his day to day living. On a typical day he lives with constant pain from headaches ranging in severity with no consistent relief. He also deals with double and blurred vision, spots in his vision combined with balance issues that have on more than one occasion caused serious injury from falls. Black outs are also a common occurrence for Jeremy. As a result of his injuries Jeremy has dealt with severe depression as anyone could understand. His entire life was turned upside down and friends and professional opportunities that were once there are now gone. Jeremy has undergone countless doctor visits, spent tens of thousands on them with no explanation or treatment for his ailments. He has been diagnosed with Occipital Neuralgia combined with Bilateral Vestibular Disorder.
Due to all of this Jeremy has come very close to homelessness, fighting for even the most basic of income, spending hundreds of hours navigating the housing bureaucracy and medical assistance gamut. It is for these many reasons I am asking for help to raise funds to supply Jeremy with a mobility service dog and the required harness and insurance. We are hoping for a large breed, preferably a mastiff, to support his need for balance and to aid in the event of a fall. The companion we are asking for would also help Jeremy emotionally, assuaging some of the depression he has sunken into.
Jeremy's goal for his new companion will be to aide him in leaving his home so he may be able to take back control of his life socially and professionally. Jeremy will be moving from Tennessee to Virginia this summer and his new companion would be an irreplaceable friend during this process and the foreseeable future. Emotionally his new friend would help him rise above the social anxiety that has become his daily state.
