Self-Proclaimed Dive Addict

Just a little back story on me..

What do I do when I cant get in the water?

I will literally get all my gear out and set it up like I’m going diving. I will breathe the compressed air while double checking everything is in good working order. Then, l put on my mask and kit and just sit there watching dive videos in full gear( no lie) I like to keep my headphones in to watch the videos so I can hear the bubbles underwater. (different kind of "dry diving") Crazy?...maybe but I’ve been called worse.

I just can’t go long without being in the water. My days are filled with me constantly having to force my focus back on the task at hand instead of wandering to the Caribbean, the lake, or even a dive shop to try new gear. I think about the water most of the day. I can barely even get a drink without thinking about diving. I love anything to do with the water. Just being near the it helps if I must be topside. I do everything from fishing, kayaking, floating meditations, midnight runs to sit by a shoreline and hear the waves… whatever I can do to “feed my addiction”. Then,  when I just can’t hold out I grab my kit and a tank and I find water. No matter the temp if I can safely lower myself in the water and descend you better believe I’m diving it.

It is a total obsession that I’ve had for a while now. I thought surely this will start to faze out, but so far it has not. When I speak about diving, I get so passionate I usually have to stand up even if everyone else is sitting down. People around me are happy I am so passionate, but at the same time are ready for a new topic of conversation. What else is there to talk about though? Everything leads back to water for me, and water leads me to this new peace and happiness I’ve found in this wonderful world of diving.

So do you want to dive with me?

Peace, Love, and Bubbles

WOW how eerie! I have sat watching dive videos breathing from a pony tank with the lights out to relax and 'dry dive' years ago!
