Snow shoveling is better than almost any upper body exercise because it combines so many things and range of motion. DOING REAL PHYSICAL WORK ALWAYS MAKES YOU SORE NO MATTER HOW FIT YOU ARE!!! You just can't mimic all those range of motions on a machine... lifting pushing, throwing, lunging forward etc. :respect:

Keep going girl!

I got 2 walks in yesterday, totaling 6 miles.  I also did a little upper body work instead of the bicycle.  I got a 3 mile walk in this morning, as well as a little upper body work again.  I plan on my second walk again for this afternoon.  I am checking in here a couple of times a day to read the reports from everyone else, and am very thankful for the added motivation.

Working with a nutritionist, walking 1.5 miles 4 days a week (doggie walks) and light yoga stretching. I want to start using my elliptical 4 days a week, starting with 20 mins and working to increase time and resistance.

That's ok...baby steps for us all! Thanks for the inspiration to everyone!

Still shoveling snow. Only about an hour today. Lost communication with my cameras and security system in the detached garage. Why? Snow slid off the roof and was completely covering the windows. So I had to snowshoe a path up there and shovel off the windows.

Yay to all you all!!!!  Keep that good stuff going.  Probably only going to get my 3.5 mile walk with dog and 7 minute video.  Spent 5+ hours with mom at dr appts.  She is 91, still lives by herself and a great inspiration to me.  Until this past year she was swimming almost everyay in the pool at the RV park where she lives.  In Feb last year, she had some cancer removed from her lower left leg.  Would not heal, we have been going to wound care clinic since mid March....... Going to get a 2nd opinioin, but the dr she goes to is the number 1 recommended in Denver area :(   Anyhow she has been active all of her life, snow skiing until 70, water skiing until 70. went hang gliding with me on her 84th birthday!!  Totally my inspiration!

Hello everyone!

Well, I finally got in another workout this morning. I broke it up and did a 15 minute one mile walk and added a 20 minute jog this time. Mixing it up a bit!

So glad Kamala suggested this!

Now I have to get motivated to get out and shovel snow!

Someone asked if I had been diving. Unfortunately no. A protracted divorce has put my traveling on hold (plus kidnapped gear!), but I cant wait to get out there again!
This gives me something to look forward to!
