yay Pam!  planks are a pain, but it sure beats the burpies which i could never understand how they helped with anything.  i am sure i did them wrong.  LOL

that is a great extra incentive.  so are you tracking pounds or bmi?  i am not sure i can commit as i dont like getting on the scale that often.   :unsure:

update for today : walked the dog, tread climber, 4 mins of planks, 3 set of 20 wall pushups, 4 sets of 25 core twists , 4 sets of various ab exercises

‘here is my weekly update:

 

each day 3 sets of 20 wall pushups done

4 trails completed this with around 55k steps for the week

1 Yoga training - so I’m still not meeting my 2 minimum for the week. Gotta work on that.

I'm in.  I am starting easy to build good habits.

 

Goal:  4x per week I will:

1.  Walk on treadmill 20 mins

2.  Planks: 1 Minute of planks (3 x 20 seconds). I hate planks, but they are good for the core.

3.  20 wall pushups

AWESOME!!! These are GREAT GOALS! I don't have a treadmill but walking is walking when you are initially so out of shape...and so is dancing or anything that MOVES the body for 20 mins or more. (4 min average song is 5 songs to really groove out too and you have the 20 mins!) :wakawaka:

 

Wall pushups can be REALLY HARD if you go for the max resistance which is how I am doing mine!

 

Planks are still a threat to me... I will try to work into them...gotta break thru on that... but nope...not yet. :(

A little birdie told me Pam and Sandra are IN!!!  I'll let them tell their plans! :wakawaka:

 

Sandra and I are planning to add a little incentive to help motivate us to achieve our goals.  We plan to see who can lose the greatest % of body weight.    We are putting in approximately $2 per week in between now and the trip.  Since the trip is a little more than a year away, we figured we would round to $100.

 

That is a great idea! How does the pot work? If one reaches the goal they win the $200 pot or if you both reach your goals you each win $100?

I officially started yesterday.

This is AWESOME Sandra!  Super proud of you!  Don't worry about increasing too soon. Getting to where the current levels are easy is the goal and THEN increase. :wakawaka:

 

ps. I think planks are better than squats...I can get down...just can't get back up. Yeah that's how weak my legs have become. :(

Whoever loses the most % by the trips gets the $200.  I suppose if we tie, then we each get our money back and buy beer for each other!   :lol:

Yes, I hate burpies much more than planks!  We are tracking % pounds loss for the challenge, but I am also tracking my BMI.

 

Technically you only have to get on the scale twice - Once to start, and once at the end!   :huh:

 

Glad to be here with the group!  Very nice to have support and accountability.
