HEY GANG... if you are doing the Scott & Teresa tour please know that right now you are skipping the pkg group tour. I am trying to see who many people want to do BOTH and if all want to do it on Thursday vs doing it on Friday as scheduled.

So if you are doing the S&T tour...YOU MUST LET ME KNOW IF YOU WANT TO DO THE GROUP TOUR because I will assume you are skipping the group tour.

Even if you want to do the group tours...I may not be able to find another date for you to them. I know ...it sucks and I'm working on it but hopefully we will have enough to offer it on Thursday IF  you want to do both and of course still have enough to do on Friday as originally planned.

Anyone else get a msg from American Airlines for Mia to Dom stating “online check-in isn’t available for this trip”?

Consensus is that is standard for international flights with AA.  I am not sure I ever tried for a diving trip since I have to check bags and have my passport checked anyway. I never saw the point.

I travel a lot internationally but i never remember that happening. But mostly don’t use AA when I fly overseas. HOWEVER I work night shift and it’s possible it has happened and I just don’t remember . Thanks for your quick response much appreciated!

Yeah I get it.  From my personal experience I am willing to say that AA is consistently the most difficult American based airline I have ever dealt with so it may just be them.  It's unfortunate I say that since I live about 10 miles from their headquarters and I would like to support hometown folks but that is my experience.  I try to avoid them but my $699 ticket direct to Roatan was too good to pass up so I will suffer it.

I was able to check in on-line for the flight on Tuesday for the Wednesday flight.  It did require having my passport information (already in their system from previous trips) and entering emergency contact information but no other issues.

Sooooo what are the odds my bags will go missing boarding in Miami and flying directly to Dominica? And also if anybody is staying at the Hampton Inn in Miramar tonight Ill be there. I highly doubt anybody will but I didnt want to stay close to the airport because its way more expensive.

On the trip last Fall, 4 of us flew out a day or two early.  The one person that flew first class got his bags.  The rest of us did not.  Everyone else that flew for either of the two weeks all had their bags.  At that time, the flights went Miami to San Juan to Dominica.  There didn't seem to be any logic to it, as all flights were full.  It is just luck of the draw it seems.

Flying direct from Miami should make not getting the bags less likely.  No issues on our flight Wednesday.

The odds are good you will get them.  Its rare for them to lose them now unless you do something weird that messes up the system.  I would not worry too much if all of your flights are on the same ticket.  Per TSA requirements after 9/11, they are supposed to account for every bag and match them to boarded passengers.  The plane stays on the ground until everything matches.  Of course that is theory and reality is different.

I broke the system once and split my flight across two tickets.  AA convinced me everything would be fine but it messed up their system and they lost my bags somewhere between Houston and Manado.  That was my fault for splitting the ticket though.
