We run two DIFFERENT Trips to NC.... our classic NC WRECK & SHARKING DIVING where you only need a minimum of 50 dives and a solid skill base AND our Exploratory Trip where you need a minimum of 100 dives and be personally vetted by Kamala aka WreckWench since this trip will be looking for new wrecks and diving more aggressive profiles on iconic classic wrecks that NC is known for!

Date: July 20-26, 2022 (5 Diving days Jul 21,22, 23, 24,25 Arrive July 20 Depart Jul 26)
Where: Morehead City, NC for world class Wreck & Shark diving
How: via Landbased dive operator: PRIVATE OPERATOR staying locally in Atlantic Beach, NC
Why: To take our normal "DIVING ON HISTORY & ATLANTIC SAND TIGER SHARKS and loads of EVERYTHING ELSE" trip to the NEXT LEVEL...to dive longer more aggressive profiles on the classic wrecks in the area and to look for new wrecks and/or explore private coordinates not available to regular divers!!!
Pricing: Preliminary pricing starts at approx $1500 for diving, hotel, breakfast, lunch on the boat. and one cookout, (we will not receive the daily diving rates from our operator until Jan 2022. Pricing is based upon a 'base price' and then the cost of actual fuel used divided by the actual number of divers on the boat. We will estimate the base trip price and estimated add'l fuel costs under several cost scenarios so you will know if you want to do this trip. Sign ups will be taken knowing that there is a variable price element to this trip. Given the unique nature of this trip there is no other way to cost it out.
Other: We recently returned to NC in 2020 and 2021 after a 5+ year gap due to our beloved dive operator Bobby Cox passing from stomach cancer. SingleDivers.com got its start diving in NC so it has and always will have a very special place in our hearts! We had such a good time we have booked another CLASSIC NC trip for 2023! (But we couldn't wait so we technically have an EXPLORATORY trip in 2022 which will look for new wrecks and do more aggressive dive profiles on some of the iconic wrecks for a smaller group of divers.) We have run dozens of trips to NC over the years! NC is not for everyone and we will have info HERE about who can and should plan to join us FOR OUR CLASSIC NC TRIP offered again in 2023. THIS TRIP TAKES THE REQUIREMENTS OF THAT TRIP AND DOUBLES EVERYTHING IF NOT MORE. You must be personally vetted by Kamala aka WreckWench to be accepted on this new trip concepts. So PLEASE read it and then email kamala@singledivers.com if you have specific questions. Its a great venue to 'train for' but one you can easily get in 'over your head' literally!

NC TRIP UPDATE as of November 2021:
People have asked us to open our trips SOONER so they can better plan for epic dive destinations both home and abroad. We are listening...especially when it comes to a venue like North Carolina...which retains the flavor of the 'wild wild west' even though its as 'east' as you can get! 
We are NOW offering two different trips to the "Graveyard of the Atlantic"... the classic trip that goes to the epic wrecks that are well known and historic such as the U352 German Uboat and the USS Schurz or the Papoose.We ALWAYS aim for 'offshore' and we 'vet' all divers to ensure they have an acceptable minimum level of skills to safely and comfortably make these dives. As a result we typically get VERY seasoned and experienced divers because this venue is truly one where the trip is ONLY AS GOOD AS THE WEAKEST DIVER...DON'T BE THE WEAKEST DIVER! We offer an epic 'Rent A Mentor/Buddy" program on our SingleDivers.com trips but it is not typically available on this trip. The Wench aka WreckWench has been known to bend this rule for a very talented diver who just lacks a lot of dives but is very good in the water. The second trip we are NOW RUNNING TO MOREHEAD is an EXPLORATORY WRECK TREK! We will dive longer profiles on the iconic classic wrecks while searching for new wrecks and exploring newly discovered 'coordinates of interest'. Celfones will be placed into faraday bags at the start of the trip and returned at the end of each day. No GPS devices will be allowed including cameras with GPS in them. This is a very special opportunity to offer a trip like this and it will be limited to less than 10 people. The final numbers are being determined as we speak. In the past we rented van transport from RDU airport for those flying into the coast. The last two trips we did not do this as most divers drove in and only a few flew to NC. WE WILL HELP WITH CARPOOLING much like we do our FL trips so as to help those who do fly in or those who wish to minimize the impact of so many vehicles (yes parking is an issue in EVERY beach town) as well as help decrease the costs.

MINIMUM DIVER REQUIREMENTS:
WOW! We are so excited to return to one of my fave destinations in the world! And while NC Wreck & Shark diving is not for everyone ...it is amazing diving for those with intermediate or advanced diving skills. We ask that you have at least 100 dives FOR THIS SPECIAL NC TRIP and have dove in salt water MANY times before and FULLY recognize that getting sea sick is not an option...meaning we will be 2-3 hrs or longer offshore so if anyone gets sick or is prone to sea sickness we can't turn around NOR go back to the dock until everyone has completed BOTH of their dives.
Wrecks....SHARKS.... and LIONFISH...NC is loaded so don't miss this trip which we expect to open as soon as we get final rates for 2022 from our "PRIVATE CHARTER".
Minimum Requirements for a REGULAR NC Dive Trip PER SINGLEDIVERS.COM:
- Advanced Open Water Certified (Exceptions made for those with hundreds of dives but no AOW cert)
- Minimum of 40 Logged Dives (this is REALLY serious diving...don't rush your skill set...keep practicing for a future trip!)
- 10 Boat Ocean Dives in their Diving career
- 10 Dives to 80 feet or greater
- 10 Dives in the Last 12 Months (some exceptions will be made for divers with many many dives who could not dive during covid)
- Minimum Age – 15 years old (prefer 17 or older...ask if this diving is suited for your child before booking via trips@singledivers.com)
Barest Minimum Requirements for OUR EXPLORATORY NC Dive Trip PER SINGLEDIVERS.COM:
- Advanced Open Water Certified OR ABOVE (Possible exceptions made for those with hundreds of dives but no AOW cert)
- Minimum of 100 Logged Dives (this is REALLY serious diving...don't rush your skill set...keep practicing for a future trip!)
- 10 Boat Ocean Dives in Morehead or other NC WreckDiving venues such as Hatteras, etc.
- 50 Boat Ocean Dives in their Diving career
- 75 Dives to 80 feet or greater
- 10 Dives in the Last 12 Months (some exceptions will be made for divers with many many dives who could not dive during covid)
- Minimum Age – 18 years old
