******IMPORTANT*****  THERE IS ONLY ONE WAY FOR YOU TO GET PRE-TRIP UPDATES.... YOU MUST BE ABLE TO LOG INTO OUR FORUMS AND CHECK OUR PRIVATE MESSAGE SYSTEM AKA PM'S AND READ THE ORIGINAL SOURCE MATERIAL.

 

To do this read below for the steps. DO NOT RELY ON THE COURTESY EMAIL...you will not get them all and/or they land in your spam folder. If you can not access our Private Message system you MUST CONTACT US. If you do not we are not responsible for you not getting important pre-trip updates.

 

Thank you for your understanding...and your compliance. We are run by a handful of VOLUNTEERS and yet manage approx 15 trips a year for our members. So it is IMPERATIVE that you be able to do this one very important task.... 

 

AND THAT IS TO BE ABLE TO LOG INTO THE FORUMS PART OF OUR WEBSITE AND CHECK YOUR PM'S. See below for how to do this. Email trips@singledivers.com for help if you can not do this,.

 

HOW DO I SEE ALL THE PM UPDATES IF I AM ADDED LATER OR UNSURE I RECEIVED ALL UPDATES OR JUST WANT TO BE SURE I CAN LOG IN AND FIND THEM SO I AM COMPLIANT WITH YOUR REQUIREMENTS?

 

The updates which are sent in the email notices remain resident on the site. You can see them by logging in and looking up in the upper right corner where you see your screen name. Look to the left for an envelope icon or use the drop down menu and choose PERSONAL MESSENGER to take you to the PM system. There you will see PM's sent to your Member Name entitled DO NOT DELETE: Cozumel Feb 2023 Trip PM and you can send and receive PM's with other trip goers.

• click on the letter/envelope icon on the same line as your screen name once logged in
• read the appropriate PM in your inbox for this trip.

The Trip PM (Private Message) feature of the SingleDivers.com Forums *usually* sends a courtesy copy email to your email address...DO NOT RELY ON THIS. IF YOU DO WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR YOU NOT GETTING TIMELY AND ACCURATE TRIP INFORMATION

 

Messages are sent via the Forum's PM system to only the recipients specified i.e. the trip attendees; this provides limited visibility as the information is specific to trip attendees only. A courtesy copy email is generated to the email address associated with Member Profiles. the email message includes a canned subject line such as "{Member Name} has started a personal conversation" or "{Member Name} has replied to a personal conversation".

WHY BOTHER?......YOU MUST READ THIS!!!

 

This is the PRIMARY way we communicate with everyone on a trip at the same time with exactly the same information that can be accessed 24-7. It is IMPERATIVE THAT YOU DO NOT DELETE IT OR EVEN A DUPLICATE POST...we'll fix the duplicate post because 99% of the time you will delete the entire message and you CAN NEVER BE ADDED BACK. PLEASE do not attempt to delete a duplicate post nor the message NOR THE CONVERSATION as we can not add you back but most importantly...you will not receive the important trip update you need to receive.

 

NOTE: We can not add you to the TRIP PM until your membership is upgraded. This is why we now require your membership to be upgraded BEFORE you can book a trip. Then when you book we can add you to the trip pm vs trying to remember to do so after you upgraded. Clearly the latter had too many chances to miss someone.  THIS ALSO MEANS IF YOUR MEMBERSHIP EXPIRES PRIOR TO THE TRIP YOU MUST RENEW IT IN ORDER TO GET THESE MESSAGES. ALL TRIP UPDATES ARE VIA THESE MESSAGES.

HOW DO WE KNOW?

If you have logged into the original trip pm aka original source material then it will tell us when you logged in last. If you have NEVER logged in yet...it says that as well. Please check the original message ESPECIALLY the LAST 7-10 DAYS RIGHT BEFORE THE TRIP FOR MANY IMPORTANT UPDATES & LAST MINUTE NOTICES.

Thank you! We are revising the language to ask if you can LOG INTO THE FORUMS AND ACCESS THE TRIP PM RESIDENT ON OUR SITE??? This is more important because emails can get lost or never delivered.

Please make sure she can log into the forums and find the updates. Too many rely on the courtesy email and may or may not come. Then they think we are not sending updates when we are.

Betterhalf got the PM for the 2023 Cozumel trip and I'll show her how to read.  However, she will probably will rely on me.   Better half is a non-diver now so can she skip the diver questionnaire and perhaps any other forms such as the dive waiver?.   Please Thanks.    GigemDiver

Joel she needs to complete and either upload or email the waiver form to trips@singledivers.com however she does not have to fill in the Dive Survey unless and until she joins a trip as a diver.

Thanks Joel....as long as we know you can log into the PM system to get the messages we are good. Too many people rely on the emails and when they do not show up...or end up in spam... well things go downhill from there.

 

So KNOWING you can check the PM system yourself gives everyone peace of mind that they can see if they missed something!  Thank you!

Hi David, thanks for posting you are able to access the Trip PM! Please remember from now until the trip begins Kamala needs every trip attendee to return to the Trip PM periodically, at least every two weeks until a month out then two or three times a week because that is when the critical trip updates in the PM really start to pick up the pace.
