Hello to all. Its been a wild ride and the rodeo is BASICALLY over. :wakawaka:

To help everyone understand where each of our trips stand related to covid we are creating a special topic that will be linked to the main trip details topic #1 and will provide periodic updates as we have them. If you know information or have information related to the country or our provider PLEASE email kamala@singledivers.com so I can assess and add to our running list of important updates. :thankyou: and :respect:

REVISED BONAIRE TESTING REQUIREMENTS as of Jul 27, 2022:

At this point in time they are as follows:

NO REPEAT NO....Testing requirements for AMERICANS Traveling to Bonaire

https://www.bonairec...vel-to-bonaire/

NO REPEAT NO 1. Health declaration Filled out 48 - 72 hours before departure = VAXED & UNVAXED

NO REPEAT NO 2. NAAT (PCR)* also known as rt-PCR test  Within 72 hours before arrival - VAXED ONLY

or

NAAT (PCR)* also known as rt-PCR test Within 24 hours before departure or OR NAAT (PCR)* also known as rt-PCR test Within 72 hours before arrival + Antigen test ($47.50) immediately upon arrival on Bonaire. - UNVAXED ONLY

NO REPEAT NO 3. NOTE....IF THE US IS RATED VERY HIGH RISK AT TIME OF TRAVEL.... then NAAT / (PCR) test On Day 5 after arrival  (we would set up via the hotel)

NO REPEAT NO NOTE: Due to Dec 6, 2021 changes to US returning home requirements the day 5 test will no longer also be your US return test. You will need to do Day 5 testing and THEN do day 6 testing to meet the 24 hr window imposed by the US. Hopefully Bonaire will find a way to make it Day 6 testing vs Day 5 and the same test can be used for both purposes.    NOTE THIS ONLY APPLIES IF THE US IS IN THE VERY HIGH RISK CATEGORY.. CURRENTLY we are NOT required to test on day 5 due to being in HIGH RISK vs VERY HIGH RISK category. :wakawaak:

In regards to testing on Day 5:  the USA is considered “high risk,” not “very high risk.”  So according to the chart below this one, travelers from the US do NOT have to test on day 5.

* Here is some research on the testing methods.  NAAT is a method of testing.  It is the method that is used in the PCR test (sometimes called rt-PCR).  It is the kind of test that needs to be sent to a lab; it is not a rapid test.  Here are a few articles on the subject for those interested.

NOTE IF TRAVELING TO OTHER ABC ISLANDS YOU WILL NEED TO COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS FOR THOSE ISLANDS WHICH USUALLY MEANS PCR TEST FOR THEM AND ONLINE FORMS. They are also found at  https://www.bonairec...vel-to-bonaire/

WHO MUST COMPLY:

  1. The testing requirements apply to all travelers 12 years of age and older.
  2. Travelers of all ages are obliged to bring the filled out health declaration: https://bonairepubli...lth.org/en/form.
  3. * Fully vaccinated means that the final vaccination has been administered at least 2 weeks ago.
  4. Important note: We have a rep coming to the hotel to test our group.
