We will have other trip topics to help manage the pre-trip experience and ensure that you are as updated as possible. These include seeing who is celebrating a special event or ensuring you are getting the OFFICIAL TRIP PM.

 

How Do I Register on the SingleDivers.com site?

• www.singledivers.com
• click on Forums or click on Take me to the Surface Interval Forums under Forums
• Click on REGISTER in the upper right corner
• Choose a FUN SCREEN NAME ...email admin@singledivers.com if you need help. (Changing your screen name is very difficult to do after the fact so please take a few minutes to come up with a name you will like!)
• Finish the registration process

NOTE: Only upgraded premium members can sign up for our trips. The premium membership enables you to receive private trip communications, see the profiles of who else is going, PM others on the trip (and other premium members on the site) as well as entitle you to numerous specials, discounts, perks and deals throughout the year.

 

How Do I Upgrade my Membership or Renew my Membership?

• click on Forums or click on Take me to the Surface Interval Forums under Forums
• Login in the upper right (you know you are logged in when you see your screen name vs guest)
• Click on the white links in the dark blue bar....the last one is MEMBERSHIP
• Choose Premier (or higher) or if you are active duty military choose our Diver's In Uniform and we will work with you to validate your complementary membership. OTHERWISE... choose the payment option of either paypal or the SD payment portal
• if you choose paypal your membership will be upgraded automatically and you can proceed immediately to book per the instructions below.
• If you choose the SD payment portal please allow 2-3 days for your subscription to be cleared, validated and manually upgraded
• Once your membership is upgraded you can book a trip with us.

 

Why do I have to log in more than once?

• You do NOT need to be logged in nor registered to read information on our site.
• The site has two primary areas that require you to log into....the forums and the homepage which allows you to access the booking system/shopping cart.
• No matter where you are you MUST LOG IN to either post or book.  To ensure your information is safe we REQUIRE YOU TO LOG IN EVERYTIME YOU LEAVE A SECURE AREA. This means if you leave the forums to book you need to log in again. If you leave the shopping cart to post in the forums you must log in again. 
• YOU WILL ALWAYS USE THE SAME LOGIN INFO BUT YOU LOG INTO EACH DIFFERENT PART OF THE SITE DEPENDING ON WHAT YOU WANT TO DO. (This is a security measure to keep your information safe.)

How do I Book a Trip with SingleDivers.com? 

 

To book you trip please follow the following simple steps:

 

1. Register a FUN screen name

2. Log into the FORUMS and upgrade your membership to Premier or higher (you can also do when you are creating your screen name. If you use paypal you will be automatically upgraded by the system. If you use the SD payment portal it will take 24-48 hrs to verify your payment and manually upgrading you)

3. Once your membership is upgraded and your account is upgraded you can then log into the homepage as follows and book a trip.

• Trips
• Choose the trip from the trip table and either click on the BOOK NOW link to book or DETAILS LINK to be taken to the forums for the trip information and to ask questions, see who is going etc.
• Complete the trip booking process either by paying in full to qualify for our early booking discounts or by paying the deposit for the trip you are interested in.
• Complete your online documents for your trip within 21 days to avoid a $75 late document fee OR within 3 days if signing up within 30 days of the trip's departure date.
• You will be added to the TRIP PM (Private Message) within several days of signing up for a trip, which send courtesy emails to your inbox when an admin posts in it or you can check all messages sent 24/7 by logging into the forums and clicking on the message icon by your name.

 

HOW DO I GET REPLIES TO MY QUESTIONS?

 

1. We will answer your question in this topic quoting your question so you get a courtesy email indicating we have replied to your questions. 
2. We will update the TRIP FAQ located in the 2nd topic listing for this trip.
3. We will update the main trip topic #1 if applicable. 
4. DO NOT SEND THE SAME QUESTION VIA OUR COMMUNICATION AVENUES. We do not have the resources to reply to the same question multiple times because you emailed it...posted it...texted it...and PM'd it.

I'm brand new to this so I have a couple questions about travel.  if we are booking our own air do we arrive on the 2nd and begin diving on the 3rd.  also assuming we checkout and fly out on the 9th????  Sorry never done any thing like this before so not sure how it all works.

     The official trip is Saturday to Saturday Dec 2-9.  Most people will be flying in on Dec 2 and flying home on Dec 9.  Kamala will probably be flying in either a day early or will try and be on the first flight in on Dec 2, so she is one of the first people there, if not the first.  That allows her to start setting things up with the resort, as well as her being there to meet and greet everyone as they arrive.  There is always an orientation on Saturday afternoon to go over the weeks schedule with details for meals, diving, activities if there are any, etc...  One of the many great aspects of this group is that we can book the trip, get our flights, and then Kamala, Brad, etc... take care of almost everything else.  We are just on vacation at that point.  Things will be pretty quiet about this trip for a while, as there are a number of other trips that they are running between now and then.  As your trip nears, you will start to get a lot more info and details sent to you.  Ed

At this moment no it does not appear we have any other snorkelers signed up. I have asked the resort to realistically advise on how the snorkeling ops are and if I can get more rooms. ALSO I AM 13 HOURS TIME DIFFERENCE so it's nearly 2 am and I have to get up in a few hours so please please please bear with us trying to reply.

 

We are an ALL VOLUNTEER dive club that attracks some snorkelers ...mostly former divers or those who might like to become divers. We have a couple of volunteers that run/do/manage everything with the primary person being me. I am leading a massive trip to Indonesia right now and its starting to wind down so my hours on the keyboard are limited.

 

Please choose one communications method to communicate with us... either this topic...OR email ... etc. Having simultaneous email and question chains via trips@singledivers.com and kamala@singledivers.com and now admin@singledivers.com along with this topic ...only creates confusion and of course extra work.

 

At this point please give us until the resort replies back to our requests on your behalf.  Thank you for your understanding now you have a better 'peek' behind the curtain.

Flights are 26+hours with 15+ hour layover at GCM and arriving Sunday morning to CYB. leaving Friday makes it 41+hours, same Sunday arrival. Are there any others in this situation or just me because flights in are limited and I waited too late?

Try overnighting in MIA or forcing the routing to MIA. Some of it is just ugly flights.. the best options are via Cayman Airways.

The price looks good to me as long as I am able to snorkle from the boat. I don't free dive. It's a lot of money for me to pay if I'm paying for going out in a boat that I am not going to be able to use.Otherwise this trip looks great to me.

Hi Peggy, we tend to agree there are better and more cost effective club trips for snorkelers including Bonaire in the Caribbean, Raj Ampat in Indonesia and others. Since this trip officially sold out for the second time yesterday we can put you on a wait list if you decide you still want join Cayman Brac 2023, and in any case we hope you decide to join one of our future trips!

When I first saw your post I thought that you had already signed up because you'll notice the topic now says...#3 SOLD OUT etc.  But upon closer inspection I see where another diver grabbed the last spot on the trip while waiting for additional clarification on exactly how the snorkeling worked.

 

We are very lucky to have our trips sell out as fast as they do... but it does not give us a lot of time to get additional information when requested like in your case.

 

The resort did reply and the answers were not what we wanted so this trip would NOT have been a good fit.  Please look at another trip ...some of our trips work well for snorkelers and some do not.

 

As mentioned before... when you look at the price d/o = double occupancy so you share a room with another female and s/o = single occupancy so you have a private room.

 

I'm sorry you missed out on this but it really was not a good fit for a snorkeler.  We actually have a snorkeler on the Havana CUBA trip right now... so we will tell you how that works out from her perspective since we are offering the trip again next year.

It's confusing, because on the front page it says there is one single spot still available. But here it says it's sold out. Anyways, it sounds like Bonaire would be a better fit. I'm going to look into going on that one.

Thank you for the tip; that page is manually edited. We will let our Booking Manager who handles that part of the system know we need an update to SOLD OUT.
