Poesidons are not necessarily sealed. They can be had with a sealed first, but they can also be had in an unsealed first. Only the sealed is freeze-resistant.I do know that they are recommened for cold water conditions. I was told that they operate best in the cold water. Others tend to freeze.
There are a whole host of sealed diaphram firsts - Apeks DS4s are my personal fave.

Where were all of you and your wisdom when I first started diving. I was cautious buying my gear but wonder if buying today if I would make the same choices.

Ain't nothing wrong with Poesidons.
My only reason for not seriously considering them, especially the firsts, is that they're somewhat of a bear to get parts for. Then again a lot of other regs are that way too.
If I can't get parts to do my own overhauls, I don't want them, no matter how nice they breathe or how reliable they are.
I trust nobody but myself inside my regulators. Nobody else is going to take my place and die for me if the job gets screwed up.

I prefer my Jetstreams to any other regs I use, though they are very expensive to service. I've used them in very cold water without problem, as I have also my sealed Mares MR22. The only regs I've had freeflow in the cold have been Scubapro Mk25's - several times.
