Chez Neal/ Chez SD Volunteer Supply List: (A longtime SD tradition of a designated Happy Hour room)
This is a totally volunteer contribution effort, but between Duty Free and selecting your own favorite libations this has proven a super Social Hour solution!
We also solicit snacks, so if you prefer not to contribute alcohol please consider chips, crackers, etc.
LOCATION: The Wench's room (plus 1-2 rooms near the dive shop in case of overflow!)
WHEN: When diving is over! Come join us for Happy Hour drinks and snacks (concludes at dinnertime)
HOW: Get a bottle at Duty Free and snacks from home (nuts, pretzels etc) Mixers as well as beer can be found a block away at Sunshine Grocery.
OTHER: We ask a few volunteers to bring cups plus ice from the ice machine. We may need a few extra mixers depending on what people bring.
AFTER: After HH each night we store the beverages as well as snacks in the host studio that includes a kitchen and bring them out for the next HH.
NOTE: Please feel free to take your 'bottle' back to your room with you if you  wish and/or leave it until the next day for the HH (Happy Hour)

Matt you are on the list for the Friday 2 tank boat trip however in researching the details for the Add Ons section I have learned there is a 10 diver minimum plus final pricing is, well, not quite finalized which is why this is not yet found as an Add On in the Booking Page. Kamala should have this cleared up soon and will post in the PM to let everyone know the details.

I was thinking about posting something today asking about interest in a happy hour.  It is usually a popular event on most trips whether you drink or not.  It is a fun way to get to know each other better and talk about diving.  I plan to bring a bottle and will try to fit some snacks in the bag as well.  As Garrett is mentioning rum, I will probably bring a bottle of flavored whiskey as well as either nuts or pretzels.

Thanks for reminding me that this location is GREAT FOR OUR FAMOUS CHEZ NEAL HAPPY HOURS!!!  WHY??/  Because the booze is expensive on the island compared to DUTY FREE* and we have a small group so perfect to pick a room (usually mine) to host the happy hour in. Plus its a SUPER FUN WAY TO REALLY GET TO KNOW EACH OTHER... in a relaxed manner and to have an inexpensive beverage if you drink alcohol or just a soda or water if you do not. We WANT EVERYONE TO PARTICIPATE EVEN IF YOU DON'T DRINK. We even do some free giveaways and give you first dibs on future dive trip input, pick locations, etc. 

 

They have always been popular but have REALLY seen a resurgence this past year... so CHEZ NEAL GROUP HAPPY HOUR HERE WE COME!!

Garrett getting your booze in MIA works well since you are going thru SKB and can hand carry it. DO NOT OPEN IT so it shows sealed by customs. 

 

The 2 people flying in may not be able to bring duty free because they have to fly domestically from SXM to EUS. The plane is very small so they will make you pack it and it will likely put you over your luggage allowances. 

 

We should have plenty for those flying as we are NOT heavy drinkers... very very social only.
