We need your help in deciding what to feature and/or write about each month. Please look at the list below and let us know the features and/or types of articles you would like to see. Some ideas have been regular features each month and some are ideas we've only tried once or twice. We've even add a few we've never tried just to test the waters. So please let us know what you'd like to see...and feel free to suggest your own ideas.

 

For every person who helps to contribute to this post we will enter you into a drawing for a $100 gift certificate that can be used for travel and/or merchandise.

As the club is about dive travel, anything about diving works.  Definitely something about upcoming trips.  From the list above, I love the trip report idea.  I will try and write a trip report as I seem to be on a lot of the trips anyway.  I also like the recipe idea.  I have been on a number of trips where I really enjoyed a certain meal, snack or desert.  I always wanted to get a recipe but never did.  I may try that approach on this trip to see if i can get something written down by the cook about a meal that I really enjoy, using the newsletter approach.  I may be able to occasionally add a photo with some information on how and why I took that picture.

Plus you have some great ideas.... trip reports are great and I'm sure you'll do a great job on them. I like the idea of recipes as well. I have collected some from other trips so publishing them int he newsletter could be a great idea.   Thank you for that.

Thanks a million Kathy. All great ideas and the bi-monthly idea is one we may in fact try out. Our current idea is to have the newsletter for mid month to break up the slew of newsletters that people typically get anyway. If you aren't the first... you are just one of too many. We hope by being in the middle of the month that we don't look like we are early or late...but just right.

So many Great options!  
* Trip Reports with a handful of great pics- especially contest pics!

* Culture resource links for past, present or future trips (that destinations reoccur)

* Gear Tips

* How Dive Insurance Works - though I'd also add in a comparison or the difference between Dive Insurance, Dive Accident Insurance and Trip Insurance. Sometimes names are used interchangeably. 

* Gear - Replacement cycle- how/when should it be replaced?  Sometimes its age, sometimes its electronics (just like our laptop and phones get "outdated"); order of which equipment should be replaced.  Added to this, is how to check your own equipment.  And, I don't think it always has to be a member written article, it could be sourcing good articles already out there from DAN, PADI, NAUI, Manufactures, etc.  Sometimes slogging through multiple sources takes time.

* Another one could be "What to Pack" list -- from "slim" travel to "kitchen sink".  Some trips are limited by quanity and weight of luggage/carryon's.  This could start out as an article and then maybe transition to a forum of tips/tricks and things to consider.  (i.e. I like bringing baby powder as its a quick way to dry feet and get the sand off!)

* Happy Hours -- It's been awhile!  is there a way to find out population "centers" where having a Happy Hour makes sense?  (I think of organizations, colleges, etc. that have "chapters" like Alumni.  If we can figure out those general areas, then maybe someone in that area would be willing to coordinate something on an annual basis.) I haven't been able to travel as much in recent years due to work travel chaos. But my time is freed up now and would love to meet others in nearby geographic areas.

* Can't go wrong with any of the topics!
* And... couldn't get the newsletter links to work/open for me (error message).  Newsletter Format -  Table of Contents followed by Topic and short teaser with a link to the full article.  If it is a short piece-- i.e.  handful of sentences, doesn't make sense to link.

Those are good ideas... but not sure where we get that info other than our members who give their input We could link to magazines that do that testing as well.
