I just got certified as a self-reliant diver and since I have no experience as a solo diver, I'm interested in your detailed opinion about a placement of the pony bottle. Is it better to have it attached to the tank using a bracket or attach it to BCD and let it hang on the side? I love videography and photography and since I dive with a camera in my hands, I'm assuming that having my 19cf pony bottle attached to the tank is a way to go. What do you think? What are the pros and cons of either placement? Thank you all.

I have not used one often, so my experience is extremely limited. If I am doing a deeper dive, I will hang a bottle from my side or across the front. It really depends on which BC I am using at the time, and what is accessible and comfortable. It also depends on the environment that I am diving in, as the will change where I prefer to put the bottle. I have never attached it to the tank on my back. I guess what I am saying is that it seems to be a preference and comfort thing for me. If I were doing technical diving or cave diving, i believe that it would be better up front to avoid having an additional tank on the back to get caught on something.
