Hi there, I'm new to the site and wanted to say Hello. I am a relatively new diver but on a fast track. I have my Advanced OW and am hoping to get my Rescue Diver sometime in the next 8 months. I am from Montana and eager to try new dive locations. I have so far dove in Montana, Bonaire (with Buddy Dive) and the Red Sea (with Sea Serpent). I am 40, single and eager to meet other divers. I'm 5'10" and medium athletic. I enjoy hiking in my backyard Glacier National Park in the summers and skiing in the winters. My passions are all living creatures under the water. I enjoy fish identifying and cataloging my photos after my trips. I look forward to hearing from you, please reach out!

Hello Erin and welcome to SingleDivers.com where club Founder and President for Life  ;) Kamala aka WreckWench has been conjuring amazing dive trips to world class WARM WATER dive destinations so buddyless divers can enjoy these exciting locales without the burden of Single (Room) supplemental costs for over 20 years! :diver:

Of course we encourage interaction with other members here in the Forums as a way for everyone to get acquainted prior to picking a trip, but that is not a requirement; many meet for the first time upon arrival at the exotic location of the month and explore together. SingleDivers.com has a unique set of trip survey forms to help match the most compatible (same gender) roommates and (either gender) dive buddies. Of course the Single Occupancy option is always available as well for those willing to spend a little extra for privacy particularly on the first trip.

We see you are an AOW and Nitrox diver with 50 dives already, not bad at all considering your home state is Montana.  :cool1:

You are doing great! We look forward to seeing more posts from you around the Forums and hopefully you will find a trip you like and decide to make the most of what SingleDivers.com offers (and was created to offer, frankly). Nice to meet you!

Hey thanks, uh...dive_sail_etc. There sure are a lot of fun trips listed. I've read great things about Saba. My next planned trip is Belize in Feb 2026 and Chicago in June for Rescue Diver certification and hopefully a wreck dive in one of the Great Lakes while I am over there. Then leaving the rest of the year open for options! I'll look into your Saba trip to see if it's something I could fit in.

I'm curious, how many Admin are on this site, and could you guys use any help?

Hey I did my undergrad in the Big Sky Conference... UofI to be exact and we lived only an hour or so from Montana!  Welcome aboard.

Very few 'all volunteer organization's have enough volunteers and in today's ever changing and technically complex world... we never have enough administrative help... either in the IT realm or other.

So yes we can always use extra help if you want to lend a hand.  Email us at admin@singledivers.com to chat about possibilities or drop us an email with ideas. You can reach me personally as well at kamala@singledviers.com.

We are super happy your found us and we'd love to have you on our Saba trip next summer. Let's get you on the notify list of interested people. Thank you, Kamala

:hiya: Erin and  :welcome:  to the awesome world of Singledivers.com.  As Brad said, Kamala and crew usually find fabulous destinations in the warm water.  Saba is a great place to dive and you will get to meet some fun people and divers of many levels.  Sorry, but you can have the cold water diving........  But love skiing in Montana and the Glacier area.  Rescue diver is a really good certification to get, it helps hone in your skills and confidence.  Hope you have a great time in Belize, good diving.

Hey thanks, uh...dive_sail_etc.
My mistake; Brad aka dive_sail_etc. is my official club name.  :blush2:  With all the posts and email I produce for the club I am the most surprised by my oversight, thanks or taking it in stride with just a gentle jibe to point it out.
Hint: Subscribed Members, in addition to accessing partial Member Profile information such as First Name or dive history / preferences (only staff can access things like street / email addresses, etc.) there is the Private Message (PM) feature for chats with other subscribed members and is required to log in the Home Page for booking a spot on a club trip.

Saba landbased has also been on my radar or a while, and for the same reason. You may notice some trips are scheduled back to back, we have a pretty large pool of members who have over the last couple of decades graduated into retirement but are still plenty active, this offers a chance to string two or even three weeks together and make the most fun bubbles out of the airfare to get there.  :cool1:
Rescue sounds like a great confidence builder and provides crucial skills that could save a life. I'm guessing that drysuit cert will pay for itself during the course  ;) and I wonder have you logged any PNW dives? My only regret with a strong dislike of cold water diving is knowing I will never get to encounter the giant red octopus off
the coast of Seattle / Vancouver.
Wait! Montana!! Any high altitude dives? The clearest water in the world runs off those glaciers right into some awesome lakes up that way.

The Admin Group has become a last resort option to override a tangled web of varying management restrictions and privileges scattered across a broad array of subforums and galleries; remember this club has been around for over 20 years, and as such has seen its share of IPBoard based Subject Matter Experts (SME's) come and go. I say all that to explain the number of members turned volunteers in the the Admin Group is somewhat misleading; some of us are performing purely mundane tasks that use the Admin privileges to minimize running into various paths and or topics which may have been locked down long ago for a set of circumstances which no longer apply, but the specific setting that limits staff level groups cannot be easily determined. If you have a reasonable amount of IT experience I am sure this probably sounds familiar.

Lets see if my purple color code works. Thanks for reply Brad. Fun knowing that I can see peoples profiles more if I am a paid member.

I look forward to retirement when I can tack trips together like that, oh my goodness, Im jealous!
I havent done any PNW dives yet but looking for locals over there to join. I think you should suck it up, out on a dry suit and join me! Then well warm up in a hot tub afterwards each dive and talk about the amazing GPOs and other things we saw!! Come on! :P
For high altitude dives, that was one of my specialties for my Advanced :) we dive in McGregor Lake (find me on FB for pics). I plan to dive Lake McDonald in Glacier National Park next summer!
