I'm Jim and I know most of you from the Cozy trip. It's great to be able to maintain contact with all the new friends I made on that trip and all the new ones I know I will make here.
I'm a PADI/NAUI/SDI/TDI/DAN/DSAT instructor and I have been diving for over forty years (I'm counting that from the time of my first nine-month free dive, of course  ). I teach for a local community college system as well as my LDS. And I'm still learning--Currently doing an advanced Nitrox course (to 100% O2) and some decompression training--I should be certified to teach these in a few weeks. I am a cylinder inspector and certified tech on most brands of equipment (except Scubapro and Oceanic). I am an engineer by profession and have designed several specialized tools and accessories for scuba diving. My current design project (on my own time) is a ROV (Remote Operated Vehicle) for shallow wreck exploration (to 300 feet)
I am very opinionated (in a non-confrontational way). I dive Poseidon regulators (Because they are the best), Cochran computers (Because of their reliability, redundancy, and superior data algorithms---Hey, they're the only computer approved by the U.S.Navy and what's best for the Seals is best for me), DUI, Mares and Seaquest sport BCs and, of course, backplate and harness for technical. Zeagles are ok, I just don't particularly like them. I like DUI and Whites for Dry suits, Henderson for wet suits, and Mares Quattro fins. I dive Seavision masks and always prefer an opaque skirt on all of the 30 some-odd masks I own. If that's not enough to start a lively discussion, I don't know how to start one.
I enjoy photography, wreck exploration, archeology, and practically any underwater exploration. I'm not too crazy about cold water diving---If you look in the dictionary under "woose", that's my picture!!.
I'm looking forward to meeting with everyone here and hope to meet each and every one of you in person in the future. Until then, Let's talk and blow lots of bubbles. Jim

Hi Jim,

How's it going? I enjoyed the night dive you took Todd, Mark and me on. Did you get new batteries for your dive computer?

E$ ;)
