Hawk...after reading this, I just want to whisper those three little words to you:

"UP YOUR DOSAGE!!"

You just crack me up! :usflag:

Love you, Brutha!

Kerry

It's amazing how three little words and send shivers down a man's spine, like "Up the Dosage" or "My husband's home" :P That did remind me to change my signature. I'm ready for another night on the town! :thankyou:

jex....you had to be on SB at the time the singles wars were going on.

it was a mess and caused a lot of hard feelings. People were even banned from SB....it really was a mess.

I personally have no problem with a dating area....but.....at that time it was instant death for a forum on SB.

Like said many times......Not to know history.....is to repeat history...and all its mistakes.

I dont think this board is that much of a dating board....at least not for me...but there is a def proclivity to proclaim it isnt one. Have you ever noticed that....
anyway.....just be glad Kamala took the time....effort...and whatever to create this place...

No worries, Rich ... I'm not a fan of that board at all. WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too much ego over there. We're MUCH friendlier here!

I found the group at Sea Space 2004 in Houston

...and now for the rest of the story (as Paul Harvey says)

I was in the process of breaking up with my boyfriend of X years and we were supposed to go to Sea Space together. He made me angry earlier that day, so I decided to go alone. I found the booth, picked up some literature, and then the literature just sat in the bag for a couple of weeks. Well, we definitely broke up, and one of the things I was saddest about was that we had just gotten certified and dove together in Hawaii about a month before. It was an awesome experience and I was sad that I might not get the chance to dive again. I had forgotten completely about SingleDivers until I picked up the literature bag, was just going to throw it away, but decided to look through it again. I found the brochure, booted up the computer, and here I am....

Well, my story is pretty boring, too. A friend of mine turned me on to diving...so I got certified...then realized I didn't have anyone to dive with...yikes! So, I did a google search and found Kamala located right here under my nose...I was so excited that I joined within a week!

It was November of 1978. I was in my last semester of grad school, and I had a night off. I'd heard about a wine-tasting/singles dance in my home town, so I decided to check it out. (Despite this opening paragraph, this isn't a letter to Penthouse.)

At the time, I was wearing a belt with a dive flag belt buckle, and I had an old, large, wind-up, circa 1970 dive watch. The guy collecting cover charges at the door asked me if I was a diver. When I said yes, he told me about a relatively new dive club. Well, a couple of months later, I was a member of that new club. I've been a member of that club for half my life.

Now, here's the lucky part. This club started Beneath The Sea, back in the 70's. I worked the show for most of my years as a member. Well, I encountered the SD booth in our exhibit area....and here I am.

Would you believe that I read about SD on a "porto potty" wall? No, well then would you believe that it was written in algae on a sunken boat in the quarry? No, well the truth is, my neighbor "ddierolf" told me about it! :cool1: :birthday: :birthday: :birthday: :birthday:

"Well, I was born a poor black child ..."

Actually, I kept having this recurring dream that this hot woman was stalking me on another board. She beckoned to me, like a siren ... "go to the light, go to the light, it's better over there...". So I did. And it is. And I haven't looked back since!

And then the voice said, "come to Bonaire...."
