SD Happy Hours at the SD H20 Bar aka WW's Room:

Hey gang...I forgot to remind you all to pick up a bottle of your favorite 'adult beverage' if you so desire for our Happy Hours! We'll supply the mixers n munchies for the first day or so and then do a group shopping trip for the balance of the week.

Will bringing along a bottle of tequila from here produce problems on the flight? or for clearing Netherlands Antilles customs?

What about powdered Gatorade mix?

Reminder about US snacks and treats:

Also keep in mind that Bonaire is VERY SMALL island and everything except salt is imported. So finding typical American products or beverages is difficult and expensive. The local versions of things are not bad...but different. So if you MUST have a snickers bar or some sort of candy/snack...please consider bringing it with you as there is only one main grocery store on the island and only 1-2 convenience stores as we know them.

I know I'm bringing a few 'must have' things...I'm sure others will too! Kamala

I like the local snacks and beverages in the islands, especially"Ting". Do they have it in Bonaire?

Per the TSA website.

Transporting Alcoholic Beverages

Alcoholic beverages with more than 70% alcohol content (140 proof), including 95% grain alcohol and 150 proof rum, are prohibited from carry-on and checked luggage. Up to 5 liters of alcohol with alcoholic content between 24% and 70% are allowed per person as carry-on or checked luggage if packaged in its retail container. Alcoholic beverages with less than 24% alcoholic content are not subject to hazardous materials regulations.

Please check with your airline for any further restrictions.

No issue on gatoraid mix...there are some restrictions to traveling with alcohol however a number of us brought plenty of wine from our homes for the Saba trip.

Alcohol is VERY cheap in the duty free store so works just as well! -ww

URGENT:

Air Jamaica is changing flights due to issues they've had with cancelling their route to Bonaire. Even AA has made some minor changes so check YOUR FLIGHTS REGARDLESS OF CARRIER!!!

It is IMPERATIVE that you call the airlines if you are flying Air Jamaica or ANY airline to see if you have any schedule changes.

I am on the phone with Air Jamaica attempting to troubleshoot as many flights as I can.

1. Call the airlines and DEMAND that they fix your flight if its not acceptable i.e. they show you getting all the way home. It is THEIR problem...we booked good tickets for you and they have made unacceptable changes.

2. When you talk to people take a pad of paper and write down EVERYTHING you are told and WHO you are talking to and WHO their SUPERVISOR is. This will usually make people more inclined to help you so TAKE NAMES and NUMBERS!

3. Please send me YOUR CELFONES...it looks like I'll need them trying to reach you all!

Example:

Richard has been a dear and is letting me highlight his situation so that I can show you how to help yourselves in a similar situation:

RICHARD: IF they can not get you back THEY HAVE TO PAY for hotel and meals. You DO NOT AGREE to anything else. (I do however have one diver staying an extra night with no roommate...Jerry aka NCMasterDiver.) So if you WANT to stay you can but Air Jam has to pay for any stays if they can't get you back when your original ticket.

Per AJ you need to get to your flight 2 hours in advance which woudl at 4:30am and they will give you your final arrangements but you are protected!!! DO NOT ACCEPT ANYTHING LESS. The agent we spoke with was: Ahsha #9425 montego bay.

Print this out and take with you. Collect similar info at each step of the way. Kamala

Richard...Out bound flights are ok.

Return in the system is showing:

Bonaire to San Juan (SJU) AA 5055 8:00am with SeaUrchin
San Juan to Chicago (ORD) AA2078 (not sure time)

what will it cost me to stay another night in Bonaire?? and she said she couldnt guaranatee a schedule change on Sunday
