I think we're all overlooking one very important benefit as well... and this has been scientifically tested using a leading edge system of measurement known as the B.A.N.D. Method (aka: Blubood And Neptuner's Defiling Method). In these experiments, for the purpose of scientific research (WARNING: Do not attempt this at home!), we have exposed our bodies to extensive alcohol consumption rates while engaged in a series of ritual dances and simultaneously enduring extreme sleep deprivation. In every instance the R.T.P.A. or Ready To Party Again time was significantly reduced when flax seed was consumed on a regular basis. Additionally, the presence of Hellish Alien Nutrients Generating Overtly Volatile Entities Redundantly (or H.A.N.G.O.V.E.R.) was virtually non-existant. The results of this study were set to be published, but during our last experiment we used most of the report to write some really cool tunes and had a paper airplane fight with the rest of it. :lmao:

Seriously though, this stuff works. I can't explain the how or why, but after closin' down the clubs every night, dancin' our shoes off and making our nightly contribution to the local sugar cane producers... every morning we're up at the crack of dawn, ready to take on the world and start the whole process over again!

I agree but I think it is the antioxidants in those fruit, veggie and berry extracts that the wench has us all on that is preventing the hangovers. I can't get the flax to do that on its own. :lmao:

But they are non-existent when I take the extracts and flax together!

Got it, already using it.

And thanks for the stickers and business cards, wouldn't mind getting a few more of those to have to pass out when I meet other divers.

Thanks for your flax order Tina aka Twinklez and Mandi aka landlocked! Got your check Tina and Mandi I know you were going to give me one on the T&C trip so just drop it in the mail when you get a chance!

Note: Not all flax is created equal. Some you buy is commercial grade NOT food grade. Some you buy is lower quality food grade. Some is already rancid when you buy it...some has extra husks in it and is not as pure. Rather than hassle with all these other contingencies...you can simply buy the flax that SD offers its clients. It is the purest flax in the marketplace, costs only $16 a month or about $3 more than what you can buy inferior grades for and you will know that you are keeping ND farmers employed helping to grow our food supply. To order simply post in this thread or send me an email.

Can you add me too! After the Megladon trip and hearing all about flax seed you've got my interest. If you could let me know how to place an order for the larger container, that would be great. thx.

Resurrecting yet another long-neglected thread....

WW, what is the net carb count for a daily serving of flax seed...and how much is that serving quantity?

When you told LLDN and me about flax and it's benefits, I know you told us how much flax seed you take per day, but yanno...I don't remember whether it was 1T or 2T...

Once I know the carb counts on both flax seed and the extracts (I've posted in that thread too, to bring it back to the top) I'll be talkin' with ya about gettin' on 'em.

Here's the 'Web MD' link re: Flaxseed, unfortunately they didn't give a carb count, but I think the other benefits would out weigh the few 'raw' carbs you consume.

Thanks Bill. I've seen that page in my research. I do need to know about the carbs though, as my success with Atkins has required net carb (total carbs minus fiber) intake per day of 15 grams or less. Given that, yes, even the addition of flax seed matters.

From the back of the Bob's Red Mill bag - whole golden flax seed:

serving is 2 tablespoons

90 calories, 8g total fat, 7g total carbs (6g of dietary fiber, sugars 0g) and protein is 4g.

Hope that helps.

Net 1 gram carbs, Victoria, by the Atkins method of counting! :blush2: But 2 tbsp will take your body by surprise [to put it politely] if you're not used to lots of fiber in your diet! :o

Thanks, Lynn! That does indeed help.

Yup, LLDN, I'm trackin' on the fiber surprise... I'm doin' a fairly high fiber thing these days, but I'd still sneak up on that full serving of flax... I've no desire to entertain my new coworkers with my impressions of a pod of humpback whales from the loo....... :blush2:
