Ok, so what's an "Angel" expected to do when prompted to "be an angel" with regards to a trip? (been IMd and told I wasn't QUITE right in my original read of the post above.....)

You do understand, don't you,  that we call him Charlie, because he is the only male Angel.  As in "Charlie's Angels", get it?  Duh!!

I guess there is something to there being a "background" debate going on..... now there's an attempt to remove someone for bringing up issues and divulging the "evangalism"?

There is nothing going on to the background debate that is valid. I am in the process of posting all the claims and accusations as well as my discussions with several lawyers regarding these 'concerns'.

Part of being an Angel includes being an ANGEL INVESTOR? (that is, covering spots on a trip)?!

No "Angel" in this sense is not an angel investor...unless you count the caring, time and energy spent making SD a more fun place as an 'investment'. Actually the more I think about it...the more it applies! However they are not financial investors of any sort. Kay was asked if she wanted to join in on the Florida trip to help fill all the spots on the boat. However she had already indicated that she wanted to join in on the trip or she never would have been asked to join us or 'help' fill an empty spot.

Uh, folks, that position USUALLY comes with part ownership of the company. If this one doesn't, and I assume it does not, I'd say there's plenty rotten under the rug to look at.

Angel in this vernacular means...'greeter' or 'heavenly person' on the site that represents goodness, fun, & kindness. Again it does not mean any type of financial investor.

Lawyers prove naught, jest a cause for arguing. Believing is what it is all about, and who has ever believed a lawyer? Especially a sea lawyer.

I have been an angel for almost as long as this sight has been up and running - and I have never been asked to "invest" or cover any trip spot - my duties are to greet the new members, wish birthday greetings and be social at happy hours.

Thank you all for your comments, feedback, constructive criticism and overall input in the "Suggestions to make SD Better Thread".

The thread has highlighted many opportunities and ways to make SD better many of which have been posted in the "Opportunity for Growth" thread. While we have done nothing illegal nor unethical, there is always room to improve when that improvement is requested by your patrons.

We have experienced some growing pains and this is good...well the growth part is...maybe not the pain part!

You will see a number of changes starting on the site this month as well as a new accounting system going into place which should be up and running by July 1. We have a new ACH check processing system which will be fully functional June 20 to expedite the deposit of checks as well as offer electronic progress payments...and many more changes designed to let SD function more effectively and effeciently so that it can continue to offer you great dive trips especially for single and buddyless divers from around the world, diving the world.

We have closed the "Suggestions Thread" so that we can concentrate on effecting the changes resulting from the thread. So as we prepare to return you to your regularily scheduled SD programming...keep an eye open for many new and exciting changes that have resulted from this discussion. And thank you DrDiver for starting this thread and to all those who offered insight on how to make SD better.
