Keep my sister in your thoughts

However, my sister was diagnosed with lung cancer last week and will undergo surgery Wednesday (June 29th). Although she smoked, she quit many years ago. Fortunately the cancer was diagnosed very early while looking for something else, so we think the prognosis is good for her.
I would greatly appreciate it if you could keep her in your thoughts next Wed. Thank you in advance.

As so many have said, our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I just went thru this last year with my mother.

I hope you are able to spend some time with your father... I have heard that gradual passings are less hurtful to the family b/c over time they're allowed to prepare for it.This has been a difficult week. My father appears to be dying soon after holding on for 16 months. His passing will be a blessing to him and to Mom. The family has been prepared for this.
However, my sister was diagnosed with lung cancer last week and will undergo surgery Wednesday (June 29th). Although she smoked, she quit many years ago. Fortunately the cancer was diagnosed very early while looking for something else, so we think the prognosis is good for her.

Good to hear that the prognosis is good for your sister.
Best wishes, bro...

First, thanks to all of you who have expressed your support (and to those who are doing likewise without posting)....How are you holding up?
I am doing well myself. I have been prepared for Dad's death for 16 months. We knew it was inevitable, and the fact that it was drawn out gave all of us "children" a chance to say what we wanted to and in some cases reconcile happily with Dad. At this point I recognize his passing will be a blessing- he never wanted to "live" like he has the past year plus.
As for my sister, I probably still have some denial regarding her condition. However, I am very optimistic based on what she has told me based on her doctor's comments. I always try to be optimistic and see the best in a situation.
My thoughts also go out to others like Neptuner who are going through crises like this.
