That's terrific, Dr. Bill! Great news! Now we will focus more well wishes on your mother, hopefully with the same positive result!

Thanks, Bahamsita and everyone else.

Mom is doing very well. Although she loved my father and misses him, his passing has also lifted a heavy weight from her shoulders. She sounds much more energetic and positive. She lives in a wonderful condo community in Sarasota with many, many friends developed over the 25 years they've had their home there. That support will carry her through.

Off to the mainland to give another talk for a dive club. I love the opportunity to meet new divers.

My mother just called with great news. My sister just came out of surgery. It turned out that the "cancer" was nothing more than a normal inflammation of the lung. The surgeon removed it, but there are no future problems associated with it and she should make a quick recovery. They only made a small incision.

Thanks to all the SingleDivers members who kept her in their thoughts and prayers!

Bill

This is fantastic news!!!!! I'm really happy to hear it wasn't anything serious.

Great news, Dr. B!

BTW, give me a call when you get over here - maybe we can meet up for dinner or a beer.

I'm wondering how those mentioned in this thread are doing. Bill is your sister OK? Michael is sister OK? I lost my assistant of 6 years to her battle with breast cancer the week before Thanksgiving. As a 5 year survivor myself this has been very hard for me. She is the reason I backed out of the Fiji trip. I hope your stories have a better ending. Bill, yours seemed to end possitively, is she still OK today?

Thanks for asking. My sister is fine (if you discount the normal stress of a family and a full time job and a type A personality). Mom is, too. She is on her way via AirTrans to spend the holidays with that sister as I write this. Last month we all gathered at Mom's in Sarasota for a memorial service for my father.

Hope everyone else and their loved ones have equally good results.

My thoughts also go out to others like Neptuner who are going through crises like this.

Dr Bill - this says a lot about the type of person you are, thinking of others, even in your trying time.

Don't forget to take care of yourself. I don't know you personally, but can imagine that you are the strength for all in your circle, and that can take its toll.

I will be thinking of you and yours
