Hey Folks...

I am looking to get back into diving after being stuck on dry land for about a year & a half. I was wondering if anyone could recommend any specific dive shops in the Sugar Land or west Houston areas? I took my training over at Gigglin' Marlin which is a little closer to Downtown Houston...but I wouldn't mind something a little closer to home. Right now I am primarily interested in expanding my training...but I am sure that I will need to purchase additional accessories & eventually take part in some regular trips as well. Let me know if anyone has any recommendations.

Thanks...

I thought there was a Sea Sports Scuba shop located in that area however, their web site does not show they have a shop there. Here are three that are closer to you than Gigglin' Marlin, I have included the web site links.

Sea Sports Scuba - They do have a shop located on Westheimer at Hillcroft

R & D Scuba - Their first shop is located on Westheimer at Wilcrest, they also have a shop in Katy.

Houston Scuba Academy - They are located on Hillcroft just north of Hwy-90.

Hi!

There are a lot of good shops in Houston. We also like to tell Single Divers in our area about Oceanic Ventures- they support our Houston area singlediver.com group quite a bit, and if you tell them you're with SD, they'll offer you a discount!

They're not far from Gigglin' Marlin, and the owners of the shop are wonderful people (Ann and Eric Keibler).

Thanks...I'll definitely have to check them out as well. Just to clarify something...I have no problems with Gigglin' Marlin...and in fact...I have been quite pleased with their establishment...I just realize that with my wife & I being separated & heading towards a divorce...I don't want to be in the same dive shop that she frequents so she doesn't assume that I am trying to "accidentally" run into her in the future.

No clarification needed :D Totally understandable. And, they are a good shop. Several of our local members use them as well. We just like to promote those that promote us. ;) :P
