Ok I know I am missing the Fall 2005 trip to Fiji.
And while I would love to join you on the Costa Rica trip, it's just not enough time for me to plan.
So, I have an opportunity to do some diving in Fiji, next year July.
Has anyone been diving with Tropex before, out of Denarau?
Besides diving, what other activities would be available. I've done some googling and
other than diving, I don't see much else.
Thanks for any info.

I did my diving from Nai'a but in looking through the travel info both before and while I was offgassing in Fiji I didn't see much else other than hiking, mountain biking and the usual torista stuff like parasailing behind a speed boat.
You'll want to visit a village but the one's on the bigger islands might not be the best choice. The Fijians are the warmest most friendly people I have ever met.

I would be more than happy to give you a trip report after we return from FIJI in October/November trip with singledivers.com. Is that rubbing it in or what... Sorry you can't make it with the group.

Oh Thanks Prairie Diver rub it in a little more.
Actually that's a great idea. I'll be looking forward to the reports..
Kamala assures me there will be some great trips coming up.
So maybe I'll just wait on booking that trip.

One of the main attracations in Fiji are the Fijian people! if you are looking for a party, this is pretty tame but it is more about chilling and enjoying the natural beauty. Quamea was a great resort but lots of honeymoon couples.......

Hey Denise the trip to FIJI was amazing... and of course there is more trip reports and pictures than you can shake a stick at from the November trip with Single Divers... I think the best part of FIJI is diving... Duh... but after that it is the interaction with the villagers - the Meke dance, Kava and visiting the school... If you are able get off the beaten path like we did in Kadavu and interact with the people and experience their culture if only in a small way you will understand what I am talking about. B2B was also in FIJI at the same time on a different island and said nearly the same thing... Some things we did that allowed us to interact with the FIJIan people was walk in their village and chat, went to Church, visited their school and brought school supplies, hiked to a waterfall, visited a village and was entertained at Meke and drank KAVA. Our resort also served a traditional meal the last night.. We ate with our fingers on palm leaves and sat on the floor - kind of just like home "just kidding". I wasn't impressed with Nadi on the main island however with the Indian culture present, I enjoyed some traditional curry foods... The advice I give is pend time away from the city and meet the people in which ever way you are able and you too will come away with a lifelong experience... Make sure you give us a report upon your return. Jay
