Hey Iam gonna be in Charleston, SC diving the Cooper River Oct 23/24. Anyone one intrested in diving? Its a black water dive, with current. Depths average around 35-40'..Water temp is still in the 80s. Ive found some cool artifacts, ( old bottles, buttons, pipes) meg teeth (my biggest meg is 6") in the past...

That does sound like a great dive...I've heard that the Cooper River is full of artifacts...you'll have to share with us what you find

and I'd like to know about the Meg teeth too

Whew... when you said fossils I thought you were referring to divers like me!

Mishelle- meg teeth, eh? I think I only have two, which is enough for now. What an incredible creature that must have been.

I'm with Bill, I thought this tread was about old divers but with all this rain we have had lately what vis the Cooper River had is probably gone.

One day, I'll have to get up to the Cooper River.

the cooper river is a black water dive.. with no ambient light. so the viz is ever how strong a light you have.. thank goodness for HID's:) Its basically a "solo, night dive" in the daytime.. but man its sure addictive!!

anyone point me to the directions to postin some pics on here?

That's a good thing to know. I only have a mini-C light. Sounds like I need a better light for that dive.

I have several dives in the cooper and had a good time each time. It is very different diving, but good experience.
