So how do you resolve the diver & non-diver vacation dilemma? Do you dive? Not dive? Or do some combination?


Or do you just take separate vacations?

I guess that I belong in this group. At least it seems to be a great bunch of divers. The way it works with Debbie and I is that I will usually go on the morning dives while she gets to sleep in. When I get back, Debbie is usually on the beach waiting for me to go to lunch and then we head back to the beach for snorkeling or out on the town. During a normal vacation, I will only do one night dive. This way I can maximize my time with both diving and my exceptional wife!

When my SO and I go on a vacation I usually do 2 or 3 two tank morning dives through a Dive Op in the area, then we spend time together looking at places we cant afford to buy or just site seeing etc.. but when it comes to SD events or Diving Groups where all we talk about is Diving , Dive Trips, Dive Places, Dive Equipment, Dive Obsessions, well you get the picture She decides to Opt Out and I don't blame her. remember we as divers are the oddballs out!

If you where meant to breath underwater God would have gave you GILLS.

Interesting reading, I'll definately have to remember this all if I ever get into that sort of situation... However I would think if your in a committed relationship and one is not a diver that vacations would be comprimised between the two, some would be vacations where one can dive and others would be of interest to the S/O.

Just my thoughts.
