OK folks in honor of Halloween and gathering an idea after referencing a water related B-grade horror flick in the other Creature Feature Trivia thread, I realized there are lots of really good and bad horror movies out there that involve water and even divers!!! (Confessional time - yes I'm the person who rents them... :teeth:)

So here we go with Creature "Feature" II - water/diving related horror movies. If you guess correctly, please feel free to post one of your own. If you don't have one to post, that's ok too - I have a few I can share between now and Halloween!!

CREATURE FEATURE 1

Name this "Creature Feature" (aka What the heck is that!!??):

A gang of jewel thieves board an empty luxury liner in the South Seas to find that the crew and passengers have been killed by a monster that kills its victims and sucks the water from their bodies that looks like a mix of a giant squid and the monster from "Aliens".

Classic movie moment:

[characters are stuck in an elevator and it's getting mangled by the monstery thing and you hear the awful grinding and groaning of metal and faintly the elevator music in the background.]

"What is that?"
"The Girl From Ipanema."

It's Winter time - you know you're a diver when you're scraping ice off your windshield INSIDE your vehicle...!

Once in a while, it is good to step back, take a breath, and remember to be humble. You'll never know it all - ScubaDadMiami. If you aren't afraid of dying, there is nothing you can't achieve - Lao-tzu. One dog barks at something, the rest bark at him - Chinese Proverb.

CREATURE FEATURE 2

Name this "Creature Feature"

An archaeologist finds a clawed, webbed hand so he decides to lead a trip up the Amazon to find this creature - what he finds is a man-fish with a passion for hot babes and a willingness to kill everyone arond one.

This is fun - DG you rock!
Take an SD trip - See old friends you have never met before!

I feel the urge, the urge to submerge! -ScubaHawk - Raptor of the Deep !

Jack Arnold's horror classic The Creature from the Black Lagoon!!!!!! :cool1:

If I remember correctly, parts of it were filmed here.

We showed the 3-D version 26 years ago at a 10-day "Catalina Island Film Festival" I helped a friend out on in our wonderful Avalon Theatre in the world famous Catalina Casino building. More people attended that film than any other as I remember!

CREATURE FEATURE 3

Name this "Creature Feature" (aka Hanging by a toe...):

When a man is eaten alive by an unknown creature, the local Game Warden teams up with a paleontologist from New York to find the beast. Add to the mix an eccentric philanthropist with a penchant for "Crocs", and here we go! The creature totally chomps on a diver in the opening scene!!! Who-hoo!

Classic movie moment (besides every line that came from Betty White's character):

[Upon finding only a toe]
"Is this the man that was killed?"
"He seemed... taller."
It's Winter time - you know you're a diver when you're scraping ice off your windshield INSIDE your vehicle...!

Other parts of the Creature from the Black Lagoon were filmed in Wakulla Springs, FL, I believe. The air compressor for the film crew broke and a group of cave geologists who had been trying to access the site, but couldn't get permission, offered the filmmakers use of their truck mounted compressor to complete the film IF the cavers got to dive in Wakulla and explore the cavern zone.

Of course you get this! Lake Placid it is!! Isn't this is your neck of the woods!?? Trace, you aren't um raising any crocs are you??

CREATURE FEATURE 4

Name this "Creature Feature" (aka making sharks smarter is not smart):

A movie about genetically altered sharks designed to be super-smart, which is a very "smart" idea (and for what purpose again!!??). They trash the place, get loose, and eat the characters at random. You never know who will get eaten next, or when. Even the big-name actors and parrots aren't safe!

Classic movie moment:

"You ate my parrot!"

It's Winter time - you know you're a diver when you're scraping ice off your windshield INSIDE your vehicle...!

Deep Blue Sea!

Name this "creature feature."

CREATURE FEATURE 5

The most horrifying aspect of this film was that the dive team was wearing split fins and the incorrect rebreathers to explore a submerged geological feature located in a Gothic Eurpoean country. The flying bat-like/alien/vampire creatures weren't scary, but their gear choices were.

What!?? The "pearly" blue TUSA Platinas worn by one of the girls wasn't also scary!??? :lmao: Good one! This was on my list!

CREATURE FEATURE 6

Name this "Creature Feature" (aka rookie scuba cop-yowsa!):

You can't keep a good mollusk down, as the star of this flick makes its way into New York harbor and begins feasting on tugboat crews and unwary dockside tourists. Can a rookie scuba cop (that's right, operator, a rookie scuba cop) and his partner stop the sinister cephalopod?

I really don't think there was a single quotable in this one! :lmao:

:) yes, it's OCTOPUS 2!!! Oh the horror of it, no really, the horror of it all! :birthday:

CREATURE FEATURE 7

Name this "Creature Feature" (aka is that a snake in your pants or....aw nevermind...):

Giant killer computer-generated snakes in a B-Movie style part. Even though it's not suppose to be good, it still is bad. The special effects aren't too great either. The people run around in the jungle doing stupid things while a fake looking and acting snake slithers about. It has it's moments, but it's still a bad movie for a bad movie. The only scary part is that they thought the movie would sell.

Bonus points if you can name some of the more noteable actors! They probably wish we would forget, but OH NO......!

OK, I didn't see it but I'm going to take a wild guess and say "Anaconda"?

With JLo and Ice Cube, I believe.
